Well-known for exemplary involvement and commitment to volunteerism in the community, Derby Allstate Insurance agent Donald Hunt, was awarded with an Agency Hands in the Community award.  With the award comes a $500 donation from The Allstate Foundation to The Derby Community Foundation, where Hunt volunteers. “For Allstate employees and agents, the belief that “You're in Good Hands with Allstate®,” is more than a company slogan; it's a way of life,” Mike McKinney, Field Vice President for Allstate’s West Central Region, said. “We believe in the value of community outreach and taking an active interest in the communities we serve. Maryland's Jordan's Steffy was nominated for an honor that celebrates off-the-field accomplishments. Here is the press release I received: Allstate and the American Football Coaches Association recently announced the nomination of 71 student-athletes for the 17th annual Allstate AFCA Good Works Team®, for their off-field accomplishments, including the University of Maryland’s Jordan Steffy. At the end of the season two 11-man Good Works teams will be selected. Steffy, majoring in kinesiology sciences with a 3.0 GPA, is a senior and is scheduled to graduate in May. He is being honored for setting up his own Foundation, the Children Deserve A Chance Foundation. The Foundation rose over $20,000 last year for epilepsy research and the creation of the New Image Youth Center in Orlando.
