LAGUNA WOODS (CBSLA.com) — An Orange County in-home caregiver was in custody Wednesday for allegedly sexually abusing a 66-year-old woman. Orange County Sheriff’s Department Special Victims Detail arrested 62-year-old Robert Ligayo, of Aliso Viejo, on Monday around 7:30 p.m. for elder abuse and sexual battery. The woman had reported to authorities that Ligayo had been sexually abusing her for the past six months. The suspect admitted to the assault during the investigation, officials said. Investigators believe there may be other possible victims because Ligayo, who has been a licensed caregiver since 2001, has worked for several caregiver companies in Orange County. (Alcorn County, MS) A Mid-South pastor is accused of sexually battery against a teenage girl. Timothy Daniel Nall has preached at Farmington Baptist Church in Alcorn County, Miss., for nine years and now faces serious charges. The 57-year-old is out on bond and people are shocked by the accusations. “I can’t believe it. We’ve been friends for a long time. And it’s just hard to believe.” The man didn’t want to be identified, but said the sexual battery charges just don’t “fit” the pastor he knows, “His kids went to school with my kids and I’ve known him for years. And it’s shocking, just can’t believe it.” The charges against Pastor Nall stem from a complaint filed in April 2013 by a young girl and her family. Investigators won’t say what happened between the two, just that it began in late 2012, roughly six to eight months before the complaint was filed. Reggie Anderson, an investigator with the Alcorn County Sheriff’s Department, said the alleged battery did not happen at the church, but declined to say exactly where it happened. “We presented the case to a Grand Jury in the latter part of May,” Anderson said. “And the Grand Jury of Alcorn County did indeed return an indictment on Mr. Nall.” Friday, no one answered the door at the pastor’s home near Corinth. A Milton man has been charged with sexual assault on a minor under 16 after the victim used text messaging to seek help. Santa Rosa Sheriff's Officials say Charles Edward Ewing, 51, Lambert Lane, Milton, was arrested on Saturday, charged with sexual assault by a custodian, sexual battery victim older than 12, younger than 16. The victim told deputies Ewing has been assaulting her sexually since she was seven years old, reports say, but when she reported it to family or friends, no one believed her. The allegations included inappropriate touching and digital penetration. The arrest Saturday came about after a man approached a Santa Rosa Sheriff's uniformed deputy and told him he should check a car parked at the closed Tom Thumb near Skyline on Hwy. 87. The man, Clifton Carter, told the deputy a text message was sent from a young teen saying that Ewing was trying to rape her, in the vehicle, according to the sheriff's report. Carter told the deputy (unnamed witnesses) found the victim in a vehicle with Ewing as described. She was in the front seat, crying and Ewing was in the back seat. She allegedly told officials Ewing had been trying to coax her into the back seat for sex. At the Sheriff's Department, Ewing was questioned by sheriff's deputies who say he denied the allegations. DeFUNIAK SPRINGS — A 22-year-old man was found guilty today of sexual battery on a minor. Riordan Edward Boblitt was convicted of lewd and lascivious battery on a victim 12 years of age or older but less than 16 and attempted sexual battery on a victim 12 years of age or older, according to a news release from the First Judicial Circuit State Attorney's Office. Boblitt was arrested in August 2012 after he was accused of molesting a girl beginning when she was 7-years-old. The girl testified during the trial that in December 2009, when she was 12, she also had sex with Boblitt. The Zephyr Hills, Fla., man tried to have sex with her again in May 2011 when she was 14, according to a State Attorney’s Office press release. Circuit Judge Frank Bell presided over the trial and Assistant State Attorney Jennifer A. Lieb prosecuted the case. Sentencing is scheduled for July 16. Boblitt faces 20 years in a state prison and he will be designated a sexual offender. Two additional cases against Boblitt are still pending, the release said.
