In WSS 3.0 if a user didn't have access to a document library they wouldn't see it listed on the left hand menu. In SharePoint 2013 if a user doesn't have access it still shows the document library on the left menu but they cant see the files or make changes. Is there anyway to make it the same as WSS 3.0 where is isn't listed if they don't have access? ...

Ballard library (5614 22nd Ave NW), and five other libraries in the Seattle Public library Network, have partnered with Call2Recycle to collect cellphones and small rechargeable batteries from this Saturday, June 22 through Wedesday, June 26. The collection will run as a friendly competition to see which neighborhood will win the title of “Greenest Seattle Neighborhood”. Collection boxes will be available at Ballard library during regular opening hours . Collection boxes will also be available at Beacon Hill, Capitol Hill, Lake City, University and West Seattle branches. Locals are encouraged to not only drop off their old cell phones but recharegable batteries found in laptops and digital cameras. “The Seattle Public library is happy to be involved,” said Chance Hunt, the library’s assistant director of community partnerships and government relations. “We’re excited to see how many batteries Seattleites can donate for recycling, and to find out which neighborhood truly is the greenest.” The neighborhood whose box weighs the most will be awarded the title of “greenest in Seattle”. Voda Swim designer and model, Yulia Drummond , moved from her home in Kyrgyzstan to the United States when she was only 18 years old. Modeling in her home country, she met her American husband, a Marine, at an event while he was on tour guarding the embassy. "I went an hour and a half late on purpose," she explains of their second meeting at a Fourth of July party. "As soon as I walked in, he looked and I thought, 'I got you.'" Two months later the couple was engaged and heading to Oregon to get married. After some time in her husband's home state, the couple did a brief stint at Twentynine Palms before finally being transferred to LA where Drummond was keeping up her career as a model. It was through modeling that she saw bikini tops geared towards women with smaller chests were lacking in the market and, with her husband's push, decided to enter into the world of swimwear design. "It was my birthday and my husband and I went the mall," the designer recalled of the 'ah-hah' moment. "I probably tried on at least 20 swimsuits. I just wanted something sexy and after trying on so many, I was frustrated and disappointed ." I have a document library with 2 document content types, both using Excel 2010 template. I can't remember how to publish the data from the Excel workbook onto SharePoint columns. In both templates, I have a sheet that contains the 'named' fields that I want to display on SharePoint document library as columns. I've done it when I first created the document library but with the 2nd template, I can't get SharePoint columns to be populated based on the data from the 2nd Excel template.
