I have 2 Hard drives 750gb each. I have just purchased the Samsung 840 250gb SSD to replace with the operating HDD while keeping the second hdd for storage and larger files. I am not really sure what to do, but I would like to know if there's a way that I will be able to transfer all my programs to the SSD without needing to redownload them (eg. Skype, Itunes, Adobe CS6). Also when I try to create a recovery disk, it says there is a speed write error. I have cleaned the lens, tried 2 different CD's. (DVD's, blu-rays, cds all read properly without an issue). I am not sure where to go from here, maybe try using a usb flash for recovery? Am I doing it right or missing anything? Any help is appreciated. Thanks ...

Just finally made a account on this site but I have been looking through this site for awhile now. So I'm now looking for a new laptop for college and I do have some standards in mind so if you guys have any suggestions I would gladly take them. 1) What is your budget? The cheaper the better but I hope to have it no more than $830 (before tax) (Sales prices work too) 2) What size notebook would you prefer? 13.3' - 15.6' 4) Are there any brands that you prefer or any you really don't like? Nope 5) Would you consider laptops that are refurbished/redistributed? Sure but not Scratch/Dent. 6) What are the primary tasks will you be performing with this notebook? Gaming/Schoolwork 7) Will you be taking the notebook with you to different places, leaving it on your desk or both? Both but the lighter the laptop the better so mobility is quite important so no more than 5.5 pounds (Give or take) 8) Will you be playing games on your notebook? If so, please state which games or types of games? Yes. Mainly League of Legends and sometimes World of Tanks/Tera Online/Hawken 9) How many hours of battery life do you need? More than 5 (I honestly don't know how much of a improvement Haswell is to battery life) 10) Would you prefer to see the notebooks you're considering before purchasing it or buying a notebook on-line without seeing it is OK? Buying without seeing the laptop is fine 11) What OS do you prefer? Windows (Windows 7 / 8), Mac OS, Lin ...
