Tonight: Temperatures will drop into the upper 50s to low 60s with more showers and isolated thunderstorms. Tomorrow: Much cooler. Highs in the mid 60s. Scattered showers and storms will continue from late morning through the afternoon. By evening clouds will remain and gradual clearing will ensue. Much cooler overnight low temperatures will also move in. Friday: clear skies return! Lots of sunshine is expected, but strong northwest winds will keep temperatures cool. Highs in the upper 60s with lows in the upper 40s. Saturday: Temperatures will modify slightly with all the sunshine we’re expecting. Highs near 70 with mostly sunny skies. A few scattered clouds will develop during the afternoon. Lows in the low 50s. RACE DAY! While there’s an isolated shower chance in the forecast for early in the day, overall, high pressure should remain in control for the first half of the day. This means most clear skies though temperatures will start cool. Morning temperatures will begin in the low to mid 50s, but temperatures will warm into the low 70s by the afternoon. A weak system will move in from the northwest and bring a chance for scattered showers during the afternoon and evening. Next week: After a few scattered showers to start the week, partly cloudy skies will dominate next week’s fore ...

Source: ec.europa.eu --- Monday, May 20, 2013
It's a phenomenon known locally as the "black cloud", and it plagues Egypt every autumn after the rice harvest: an estimated 4 million tonnes of rice straw is burnt every season, spewing some 80,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide into the skies. It leaves a choking, toxic layer of thick smog hanging just 25 meters above over the entire Nile valley for weeks, and adds to the already polluted air over the Cairo megalopolis. ...

Source: defragmented.tumblr.com --- Monday, May 20, 2013
The skies are clear today. It’s strange. I’m used to having rain this time of the year—I thought that from the very beginning, I am a child of the rain. Automatically, I think of how strange this year has been, and will be. It’s strange that today has to be a Monday. Everybody is busy, but they find the time to remind me that today, I am a little older. Happy quarterlife crisis. It’s going to be a tough year—the past burrows on the chip on your shoulder ever deeper, and you have a tonne of things to prove. Exams to pass, papers to fix, people to woo, jobs to do, patients to heal. Here, have some cake and a bit of chicken. I prefer stories over carbohydrates, and because it’s my birthday, people indulge me with more secrets—less smoke, more mirrors. I smile and spread my shoulders and hands open. Thank you to everyone. Thank you for sharing yourselves with me this sunny Monday. I don’t know what I’d do if I only had myself to listen to. I lie on my bed and listen to Sweet Disposition, and imagine myself melting into the circular patterns of my bed sheets. I think of truths that I have to deal with now. And I realise that everything moves in circles, and everything that ends comes back to the beginning. Today, I am twenty-five years old. ...
