Display Ammo On HUD?

Source: forums.epicgames.com --- Monday, June 17, 2013
I'm back with another question. Does anyone know how to access either the player's current weapon's ammo or the ammo of a specific gun? The player will only have one weapon, and I need to display that weapon's current ammo onto the Canvas. I have some experience with type casting, but I don't know if I should be type casting to access the ammo or not. And if I should be type casting, I don't know what I should be type casting. So any help with this will be appreciated :D Code: function bool bAmmo() { local UTPawn rPawn; local PlayerController rController; if(actorObj != none) { rPawn = UTPawn (actorObj); if(rPawn != none) { rController = PlayerController (rPawn.Controller); } else { rController = PlayerController(actorObj); } } if(rController != none) { rPawn = UTPawn (rController.Pawn); hasAmmo = rPawn.Weapon.HasAnyAmmo(); `log(hasAmmo); } return hasAmmo; } This is a function that returns true or false, whether the player has ammo or not (this is in a custom condition node I made), so I can see if the player has ammo. But I am unable to tell how much ammo he has. ...

So when you hear the radical battle cry- ‘allahu akbar!’ It’s time to put some ham in MoHAMed.” According to the site , the idea came about in 2010 as “patriots from Idaho County, Idaho sat around a campfire enjoying an adult beverage.” “History of dealings with radical Islam from the days of Jefferson and the Barbary Pirates to actions of Gen. John J. ‘Black Jack’ Pershing in the early 1900’s in the Philippines gave clarity to a modern day market solution-Jihawg ammo. Our preference is peace first but if a fight is to be had we are determined and resolved to win. Thus came the beginning of the truest form of defensive ammunition ever created in history,” the site adds. According to Jihawg, the ammunition presents a natural deterrence that will prevent violence by its ownership. The company stresses that the “nullifying principle” of its product only works in the event of an attack from an Islamist engaging in jihad. It’s called Jihawg ammo and it is meant to offer a “peaceful and natural deterrent” to the growing threat of radical Islam. It has actual pork in the ammo which makes it unclean to jihadists because of their fear of being defiled from pork, especially during Jihad. “Jihadists fear being defiled by pork, especially during Jihad,” the company’s website says. “Jihawg ammunition is Haraam or unclean to the Jihadist. So when you hear the radical battle cry- “allahu akbar!” It’s time to put some ham in MoHAMed.” This of course has many outraged. So what? Where is the outrage when these ass hats chop someone’s head off or blows up innocent Americans? It’s way past time to send them to their precious Allah since they want to go so bad and defile them for the journey. I found this to be not only funny, but refreshing as well. Good for this company for not bending to what is considered politically correct and the lefts irrational fear of offending anyone other than the right. Islamic terrorists don’t allow any sort of pork products to come near them. Well, one ammunition company is taking advantage of that religious tenet by making bullets dipped in pork-infused paint. They say that since radical Islamists don’t like pork, these bullets may deter terrorism. The ammunition company, Jihawg ammo, says that their goal is to turn the tables on the radicals. “We at Jihawg ammo hope you will stock up on Jihawg as a natural deterrent to the ever growing threat of radical Islam and Sharia Law. We, however, stress that the nullifying principle of our product is only effective if you are attacked by an Islamist in Jihad. Otherwise, our ammo functions just like any other ammunition so we obviously insist upon defensive use of our ammo only-not offensive.” It is a nice, kitschy way to sell a product, of course, but the fact is Islam is quite a bit more flexible than that. All it will take is some Imam or another to give dispensation to every Muslim hit by a Jihawg bullet and this whole “pork-infused paint” business will become null and void. We’ve repeatedly seen Muslim leaders suspending any and all parts of their faith in favor of jihad. Nearly every supposedly firm Muslim religious belief has been pushed aside in favor of killing non-Muslims. Heck, they’ve been pushed aside in favor of killing other Muslims! So, if Jihawg thinks these bullets will be a deterrent ...

State legislators just passed a $50 ammo permit fee and background check law. If liberals want to derail the right to bear arms and make sure that common citizens cannot afford to defend themselves, the cost-prohibitive per-purchase ammo fee law will surely do the trick. The great ammo shortage of 2013 is still in full swing. Store shelves still remain quite empty and demand has driven prices up in many locations around the country. Between the over-zealous ammo grabbing by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the California ammo permit law, gun owners in the West Coast state may soon be entirely out of bullets. Making it more difficult for law-abiding citizens to obtain guns and ammunition will only increase the growing crime rate in the highly populated state. The California Senate appears to once again be demonstrating their willingness to infringe upon the Second Amendment rights of constituents. High taxes and the state’s distaste for the Constitution have prompted thousands of California residents to relocate elsewhere, Texas in particular. Troy had this to say about California’s permit fee: “Since the Second Amendment to our Constitution only discusses the right of the people (that would be us) to keep and bear arms (have them in your po ...

WND Columnist Promotes 'Pork-Infused' Ammo

Source: conwebwatch.tripod.com --- Saturday, June 15, 2013
<img src="http://conwebwatch.tripod.com/blog/jihawg2.jpg" & width="150" & height="148" style="margin: 5pt 10px 0px 0px; float: left;" border="1" align="left" alt="" />Jeff Knox writes in his June 13 WorldNetDaily column : So how do you deal with religious extremists who believe that dying for their faith is an Express Ticket to Paradise? Killing them seems to just give them what they think they want. Only wounding them, as in this recent case, leaves the messy business of a public trial, and in a “civilized” country like England, where they have abolished the death penalty, it means that these young men will probably live out their lives as wards of the government, living martyrs for their cause and teachers for future generations of young Muslim hooligans who will sit at their feet in taxpayer-funded, prison “Islamic study centers.” A company in northern Idaho has come up with a culturally sensitive approach. Jihawg ammo has developed a proprietary system for infusing ballistic paint with pork. The special pork-infused paint is then applied to the bullets of loaded ammunition. The inclusion of pork in the paint makes the bullets haraam, or unclean. Under Islamic law, anyone who comes in contact with any haraam item is then unclean and must engage in a cleansing ritual. No unclean person can be admitted into Paradise. Do not pass Go. Do not collect 72 virgins. Knox then laughably adds: The objective of Jihawg ammo is not to insult Muslims, nor even to send a terrorist to Hell. The objective is to serve as a deterrent – to place the promise of instant passage to Paradise into doubt. Without the ...

The Gun and Ammo Shortage Reminds Me Of The Days You Could Not Buy A New Car

Source: extranosalley.com --- Saturday, June 15, 2013
Back when, when Wallace Barnes and Nettie Rollo had a thing going, you had to special order a car and wait. 25 percent down, the balance COD and if you could not pick your car up in six hours it went to the next person on the list, and you went to the bottom. But like I said, Wallace and Nettie, who was by far the prettiest girl in the County, had a thing going for more’n a year, and we all wondered what Wallace and Nettie were waiting on, or did they intend to, or if they ever would. ‘Course, nobody asked them anything. That would have been sticking your oar in their business, getting nosey uncalled for, and that would never do. Decent people would never speak to an uncultured wretch that would PRY! Things came to a head one crisp October day, a Wednesday, about two, when Schmidt’s Studebaker – Nash called. They said to tell Wallace that they had a car for him, a brand new bathtub Nash. Mr. Barnes would have to pick it up by in the morning or it would go to the next guy on the list; and did he want a heater, because if he did they would order him one out of Kenosha and put it in later. I never saw a face light up like that, before or since! He looked like he had been waiting all his life for that car, not just a year or so. Next day, Thursday, Wallace tipped some of us that he had the license, and the 48 hour waiting period would be up at 4:00 PM Friday. The JayPee would perform the rites at 4:30 sharp – and that Mr. and Mrs. Wa ...

Ammo sources for Syrian rebels?

Having often read foreign news articles in the Wall Street J., this new US policy made me curious whether the CIA as middleman, or 'whoever', would find surplus small arms ammo in foreign countries. Maybe the main weapons sent via Turkey etc will be anti-tank rpgs and mortars. But if small arms ammo are critical, due to the rebels' reportedly typical "lack of fire discipline" and "hoarding", would 7.62x39 be the vast majority of the ammo provided, or the only type of rifle ammo except for Nato 7.62? Some guys/gals here are recent veterans of "The Sandbox" and/or have an intell. background. Our troops in Jordan are said to be the guys who will train some of the rebels. ...
