Source: johnrlott.blogspot.com --- Wednesday, May 22, 2013
Contrast what Obama administration did with this guy who leaked information to discredit a Whistleblower with what the administration is doing to reporters who obtained information that they are less thrilled by getting out. From the New York Times: The Justice Department’s independent inspector general on Monday criticized a former top federal prosecutor in Arizona, Dennis K. Burke, for leaking to Fox News a document in June 2011 about a federal agent who was raising alarms about the gun trafficking investigation known as Operation Fast and Furious . He called the prosecutor’s actions “particularly egregious” misconduct that was “wholly unbefitting a U.S. attorney.” The 21-page report , by the office of Inspector General Michael Horowitz, filled in new details about the reaction of the Phoenix prosecutor’s office to the furor over a botched investigation into a gun-smuggling network. Arizona-based agents of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives allowed hundreds of weapons to reach criminal hands. . . . The inspector general’s report cites internal e-mails and testimony that show Mr. Burke was “frustrated” at Mr. Dodson’s criticisms . . . . ...

The IG’s report say US attorney Dennis Burke leaked a memo to discredit claims from agent and Whistleblower John Dodson. Agents lost track of hundreds of weapons during the “Fast and Furious” operation. Two weapons were even found at the crime scene of a murdered border patrol agent. ...

The hearing revolved around classified information and the fact that much of the court martial will be conducted in closed door sessions, a fact many believe will be used to hide abuse Manning has suffered since his arrest. A post on BradleyManning.org covered the pretrial which has been largely ignored by the corporate and alternative media alike. Judge Denise Lind made two rulings based on the previous closed session, on May 8, when Ambassador Don Yamamoto testified in a ‘dry run.’ In that session, she found that the defense’s proposed alternatives to closing trial during testimony that will elicit classified information – such as using code words, redactions, or substitutions – were inadequate, and therefore the court will be closed for the classified portions of 24 more government witnesses. The government is ordered to speedily provide a (likely heavily redacted) transcript of those closed sessions. Judge Lind also ruled to narrow what the government will be allowed to present when it attempts to prove that Bradley had reason to believe certain classified information could be used to harm the United States if made public. The government can show more than that the documents in question were merely classified, and it can provide some context for the documents’ content and hypothetical damage it could ...

The Inspector General confirmed that Mr. Burke went to great lengths to discredit Special Agent Dodson and Congress investigation into the gunwalking that led to the death of Customs and Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry. Mr. Burke's refusal to cooperate with the Inspector General's investigation shows me that he didn t operate in good faith. "'Yung kasong hinaharap niya (Lozada) ngayon, sinampa bago pa ho tayo naupo, nasa records naman po ‘yan. Kung ang parang akalain niya hindi siya ma-harass ay ma-abswelto sa kaso, wala po sa poder ko ‘yan. ‘Pag tayo po’y nakialam doon sa ginagawa ng Ombudsman, tayo po ang magkakaroon naman ng kaso in turn, at dapat sana maunawaan niya ‘yan (The charges he now faces were filed before I became President, that was on record. If he thinks if I intervene would mean he would be acquitted in the case, that is beyond my power. If I do that, I might be charged by the Ombudsman, he should understand that)," the President said in an interview with reporters at the side lines after leading the 115th Anniversary of the Philippine Navy at Fort San Felipe, Cavite City. President Aquino asserted he has no personal vendetta against Lozada, and instead, it was Lozada who was obviously angry with him. Lozada earlier complained that the Aquino government does not support him despite testifying against some past administration officials implicated in the botched NBN-ZTE broadband project. He posted bail after he was ordered arrested by the Sandiganbayan over a graft case. The complaint stemmed from Lozada's alleged grant of leasehold rights to his brot ...

Source: www.ringoffireradio.com --- Tuesday, May 21, 2013
For almost two decades General Motors (GM) has been in protracted litigation against Whistleblower Roger Thacker. Unfortunately for GM and its creditors, the case just won’t die. The trouble surrounding the lawsuit, including a rollercoaster ride of resurrection through the trial and appellate courts, was, until now, drowned out by the implosion of the automotive industry and subsequent structured bankruptcies. GM and its creditors hope to distribute approximately $50 million laying in a bankruptcy trust, and the undying case of Roger Thacker won’t let that happen. Mr. Thacker filed suit against GM in 1995, along with two other employees, under the federal False Claims Act. The Act is intended to grant whistleblowers a share of successful recoveries against corporations that defraud the government and it provides for statutory penalties that can soar into the millions. According to the allegations of the lawsuit, GM’s gas turbine division was contracted to build generators for destroyer ships and the work of the subcontracted division gas turbine division failed to meet the navy’s requirements. Essentially, the government ended up paying for very expensive equipment that failed to meet the basic terms of the contract with GM. Mr. Thacker blew the whistle and, ever since, GM has been trying to put the case to rest, albeit without paying the government back. The suit has gone back and forth through trial and appellate courts, havin ...

Such a mission would usually be a CIA effort, but the intelligence agency had opposed the idea because of the high risk involved in arming “insurgents” with powerful weapons that endanger civilian aircraft. Hillary Clinton still wanted to proceed because, in part, as one of the diplomats said, she wanted “to overthrow Gaddafi on the cheap.” This left Stevens in the position of having to clean up the scandalous enterprise when it became clear that the “insurgents” actually were al-Qaeda – indeed, in the view of one of the diplomats, the same group that attacked the consulate and ended up killing Stevens. The former diplomat who spoke with PJ Media regarded the whole enterprise as totally amateurish and likened it to the Mike Nichols film Charlie Wilson’s War about a clueless congressman who supplies Stingers to the Afghan guerrillas. “It’s as if Hillary and the others just watched that movie and said ‘Hey, let’s do that!’” the diplomat said. He added that he and his colleagues think the leaking of General David Petraeus’ affair with his biographer Paula Broadwell was timed to silence the former CIA chief on these matters. http://pjmedia.com/rogerlsimon/2013/...ton-and-obama/ ...
