Yesterday two cool Jeep trucks battled it out but today we have literal cinematic titans attacking one another. Today is the ultra classic British cool versus American bad ass cool. But before we get into all that, let’s check the tale of the tape from yesterday: The Jeep Gladiator from Tremors VS The J10 from Twister Tremors Gladiator DEFEATS the Twister J10 Epic landslide win. Shame about the J10 being fed to the huge worms. Today’s battle is nearly beyond description. Two insanely well known cars, two equally cool dudes, and two true icons. We’re going to start with Steve McQueen’s highland green 1968 Mustang fastback. Powered by a 390 and a 4-speed, the two movie cars were modified by Max Balchowski in the suspension department and had some unique exterior touches, like the blacked out grill and de-badging. Those changes were not made by Ford, but rather by the movie guys to get the car looking “right” for McQueen’s character. There were two cars movie used on the movie set, one had a roll bar and the other did not. Reportedly, both were just about torn to shreds during the jump scenes when McQueen was chasing the evil black Charger. The real movie magic came in the form of the Mustang essentially out running the Charger. While the 390/4-speed Mustangs were respectable performers, it would not have stood a chance on the street against the Charger in stock form.
