A new report says that Verizon may release in the future a Motorola handset similar to the XT1058 (rumored AT&T XFON), suggesting that a CDMA Google X Phone may be launched alongside a GSM version of it. According to benchmark results for the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini, the device will make use of a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Plus processor and feature a 6-megapixel camera. The Snapdragon S4 used is a dual-core part clocked at 1.7GHz and it features an Adreno 305 GPU. These are a bit under-powered compared to its larger brother. The S4 Mini should be running Android 4.2.2 with Samsung's TouchWiz placed on top. Pictures will reportedly come via a 6-megapixel camera, though this exact specification hasn't been detailed. A couple of weeks ago we reported that Samsung was planning a more sturdy version of the Galaxy S4 which would be waterproof, called the Galaxy S4 Active. Today, GSMArena is reporting that some benchmark results of the Galaxy S4 Active have surfaced that reveal it runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Plus processor. Benchmarks of the US bound AT&T version were revealed on the GFXBench results database and it appears that it is neither running on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 CPU, nor the Exynos 5 Octa CPU, like the Galaxy S4. It runs on a dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon Plus processor clocked at 1.9GHz. Additionally, it retains the 1080p 5-inch Super AMOLED display as the Galaxy S4. It is also running on the latest version of Android 4.2.2. Looks like, Samsung is continuing its trend of launching numerous devices under the Galaxy S4 branding. Sony is really expanding its smartphone portfolio this year. The company has already announced as many as six smartphones and have more incoming. One of these incoming smartphones just showed up for a photo shoot in China for us to take a look. Dubbed as Xperia UL, the smartphone has been talked about earlier in the rumours , but this is the first time that we are looking at its images. As per the previous information, the phone will pack a 5-inch 1080p display as the company flagship Xperia Z and images seem to confirm the size of the display. Back in March we reported that Sony was looking to add to their Xperia line , and today we have confirmation on one of the devices. Although the Sony Xperia UL has yet to be officially unveiled, the folks over at CNMO have published the first live pictures of the phone for us all to see. The Xperia UL looks to feature a nice sized 5-inch touchscreen display and a powerful quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor, as well as 2GB of RAM. On top of that, the device is also rumored to include 32GB of internal memory and a high-capacity 2,300 mAh Li-Ion battery. In the end, this is not meant to be a top-tier Andy, but a nice replacement for the Xperia Z. We’re not exactly sure if the UL will include a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera like the Xperia Z, however if you look at the images, it’s clear that it will come with an LED flash for night pictures, and a secondary front-facing camera for video calls. We still believe the Xperia UL will ship with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, but just like most rumors, there is no confirmation quite yet. As for availability, we are still hearing that it is headed to Japan, more specifically to KDDI, one of the carriers over there. Whether it will be a KDDI exclusive is still anyone’s guess.
