Last we updated our readers on the Secret Labs’s Agent Smart Watch, which is the only one we know off that will offer compatibility with Windows Phone , besides the usual iOS or Android, they had just raised $100,000 . Now a mere two days later the amount is bumping up against $400,000 (and will probably have reached it by the time this article is posted). The team have posted an update saying the additional funds will be used to promote the developer network around their watches, which is due for shipment in December, by improving documentation and by holding hackathons around the world to developer apps. In addition they are enhancing the Watch slightly with features like the choice of a leather or silicon wrist strap and possible engravings. The Kickstarter will remain open for a few more weeks, and readers can still get their hands on the $250 Watch for $149, with only around 1200 slots at that tier still available. KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who has on a number of occasions offered accurate information about Apple's product plans, issued a new research report this week outlining his expectations for Apple's rumored Smart Watch device, informally dubbed "iWatch". Despite some expectations that the device could launch later this year, Kuo believes that both hardware and software issues will result in the iWatch making its debut in the second half of 2014. Quote: Apple may not have adequate resources to develop an iWatch version of iOS because it may require big changes to iPhone and iPad iOS this year. In addition, wearable device components aren't mature. For these reasons, we think mass production of the iWatch is more likely to begin in 2H14, not 2H13 as the market speculates. A couple new reports claim Apple has already sent a trial batch of iWatches to Foxconn, as highlighted by Macotakara . The Japanese blog points to today’s edition of Taiwanese newspaper the Economic Times , providing juicy news on the anticipated new product Apple is reportedly working on. The first report says RiTdisplay was supposed to receive orders for an 1.8-inch OLED display, but Apple has decided to go with a smaller, 1.5-inch OLED display that uses one-glass-touch sensors, allowing a thin design for the product. This report appears to reinforce a December rumour noting that Apple’s Smart Watch will sport a 1.5-inch OLED display, manufactured by RiTdisplay. The second report points to Foxconn, which allegedly received orders for Apple’s Smart Watch. However, the Taiwanese sources have knowledge only a small volume of Smart watches (just over 1,000 units), which could mean the gadget is in the early testing phase. Rumors of an iWatch surfaced earlier this year, when a couple of reports claimed that Apple is developing a Smart Watch.
