Yesterday marked the 10th anniversary of the Buffy The Vampire Slayer series finale "Chosen" on UPN. (Also it’s been more than 10 years since the show made the bizarre jump from The WB to UPN.) "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" ended 10 years ago on May 20, 2003. Yes, it's been a decade since the Slayer and the Scoobies closed the Hellmouth in Sunnydale, California. Series star Sarah Michelle Gellar is returning to TV opposite Robin Williams with "The Crazy Ones," a new comedy on CBS this fall. At the CBS 2013 upfront red carpet last week, Gellar was surprised by how much time has passed since she last wielded a wooden stake on TV. "Wait, wait. Hold on. Really?" she replied when The Huffington Post told her the 10th anniversary of the "Buffy" finale was upon us. "Wow. God, you just blew my mind." Williams, who accompanied Gellar on the red carpet said, "It's kind of wonderful." "It is," Gellar said. "I'm incredibly proud of that show -- proud of everybody on it, of what we did ... You can't be prouder of that show. It still holds up in reruns and I'm blessed every day ... I've been pretty lucky." Danny Strong, the writer of "Recount" and "Game Change," appeared as Jonathan, a former high-school geek who became one of the villains in Season 6 of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," and said the show is bigger now than when it was originally on. 10 years ago today the final ever episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer was screened in the US. The show ran for six years and seven seasons, it began in March 1997, five years after the original film starring Kristy Swanson was released. It became a massive hit for creator, Joss Whedon and star Sarah Michelle Gellar. I didn't start watching until season four, and then bought the three previous seasons on VHS to catch up. I had seen one episode of the first season when BBC2 started showing them, and thought it was dreadful. But there was seemingly something quite infectious about the show and I was hooked after a short while. Jeff Hanneman When someone who is a part of your life passes away, it sends a shockwave through your entire body. For a few split seconds, emotions flood every orifice. Your most cherished times with that person comes running back to your mind like it was just yesterday. The most difficult part is you know that you’ll never be able to share those moments with them ever again. As I’m writing this, it reminds me of some of the hardest things I’ve ever had happen to me in my life. Losing my Uncle and Grandmother in consecutive months was not an easy pill to swallow. Never being able to meet my Grandfather, who survived four heart attacks and succumbed after the fifth, pains me to recollect. In the grand scheme of things, this happens to everyone. It happens everyday in the world and although the pain never wants to subside, we eventually have to move on with our lives. In some cases, however, certain people make an impact on your life without ever even meeting them. When I learned of Ronnie James Dio’s passing almost three years ago to the day, I crumbled to my bed and listened to “Heaven and Hell” and “Rainbow In The Dark” on repeat. Did I ever have the pleasure to be in his presence in my 24 years on this planet? No, but he changed my life for the better in many ways. His music, among others, kept me out of trouble.
