Do you know what HCSS does with excuses? He leads them into the Carrier Dome and locks the doors behind them , making it impossible for them to escape while their family cringes in despair. So, I'm done looking at lists of every college football coach's Twitter following and seeing Shafer in 77th place alongside Toledo and Northern Illinois' coaches. And I've had it with seeing Shafer called out as the ACC coach with the smallest Twitter following . This aggression will not stand. As of the time of this writing, Shafer has 1,607 followers . The next-lowest ACC football coach following is is Boston College's Steve Addazio ( 2,769 ). You know what I'm asking for. For the love of God, if you're not following HCSS, FOLLOW HIM . Tell other people to follow him. Promote the crap out of his Twitterfeed. And let's strike the first blow in the renewed SU-BC rivalry in The Quest To Not Have The Lowest ACC Football Coach Twitterfeed Following (TQTNHTLACCFCTF). Do your part, Syracuse fans. Together, we shall overcome...low Twitter follower numbers for our football coach. Tweet #Hardnosed, everyone. Just give me 11 guys who leave it on the field for the TEAM! #OrangeNation — Coach Scott Shafer (@Coach_Shafer) May 9, 2013 ...

Head Coach Scott Shafer Addresses Syracuse QB Situation

Aside from this being his first foray into the world of BCS-level head coaching, he has to lead his new program into their first season as a member of the Atlantic Coast Conference . With games this season against a nothing-to-lose Penn State program to begin the year, as well as matchups against national powers Florida State and Clemson , Shafer also has the task of replacing the most accomplished Orange QB since Donovan McNabb , Ryan Nassib. While the picture of Nassib’s replacement was blurry to begin spring practices, many thought it cleared up a bit when the program landed Oklahoma Sooners transfer Drew Allen . Although unproven on the field due to being the backup to Landry Jones the past few seasons, many expected Allen to be the clear-cut favorite to be the ‘Cuse starter in Week 1 based solely off of his Sooner pedigree. Well, during the annual intrasquad scrimmage to analyze talent known as the spring game, sophomore Terrel Hunt performed impressively enough with the first-team offense that it was hard to ignore what he could bring to the table. It’s a situation where you have someone built off of hype in Allen versus someone who has performed, albeit in a scrimmage, in Hunt. The performance however was impressive enough to start whispers that Hunt could indeed have a shot at winning this job. Monday, Shafer pu ...
