The only thing funnier than pranking adults? Why, pranking children, of course! Bless them. We really shouldn't laugh, but we couldn't help it when we watched this video (which was recorded on April Fool's Day but has only just gone up on YouTube). For it shows an American School bus driver who pranked his busload of kids by telling them that School had been cancelled that day... when it hadn't. As a longtime School bus driver and a mother of four, Gina Walpole thought that’s where her story would end. But a dream and encouragement from her oldest child changed the course of this 35-year-old Mahopac resident’s life. “My daughter, Julia, who was 12 at the time, said, ‘If you went to college, I would be so proud,’ ” said Walpole, recalling the 2010 New Year’s Day discussion they had on resolutions. I don’t remember a lot of bullying going on with my grade School classmates. (High School is a different story, but what we’re discussing here is not high School so relax.) Generally the kids were nice enough to each other, EVEN TO THE NERDS, otherwise they for sure knew they were going to go to hell or that a nun would hit them with a ruler or that they would AT LEAST get a demerit, whatever that even meant. But one odd thing that stands out in my memory of grade School is that these kids, who were all generally nice to each other, EVEN TO THE NERDS, were UNTHINKABLY mean to the School bus driver. I guess because nuns didn’t ride the bus with them so there was no threat of physical harm? I don’t even want to repeat some of the things those little jerks would say because they make my heart hurt, but man oh man. Like. Okay, I’ll say one just so you get it: They would say the seats were his only friends, AND THEN THEY WOULD PUNCH THE SEATS? What?! It is certainly kid-level harassment, BUT STILL HARASSMENT! Stupid garbage kids. (And the bus driver was so nice! One time he drove me back to my house because I forgot my slip for the Scholastic Book Fair!) So anyway that’s all just to say that this prank, pulled by a School bus driver, is one of the better pranks. The First of April was nearly two months ago, but this straggler April Fools prank video by Kurtec01 has only been posted now, quickly amassing over 200,000 views . In the prank video, a School bus driver quiets the bus to tell the students an announcement. He claims that because of special circumstances he was going to drop them off as usual, only this time the students would immediately board back onto the bus to be taken back home. “Apparently, you have another day of Spring Break,” he ended with to which the students erupted into a fit of cheers and screams. The screaming seems to go on forever until a couple students start to get a little suspicious. Slowly, the cheering calms among the doubtful until the driver jumps and screams, “Who said? On Tuesday, May 21st, School bus drivers from across North Carolina will gather at the state fairgrounds in Raleigh to demonstrate their skill and professionalism. The state School bus Driving Competition (known as the State School bus ROADeo) will begin at 9:30 a.m. at the Martin building. The driving course is set up in the Midway area. Forty-eight School bus drivers will participate in the final testing and driving competition to crown the top School bus driver in North Carolina. The winner will receive a cash prize and a trip to represent North Carolina in the national School bus driving competition this summer in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
