Growing up definitely has its ups and downs. In the upcoming comedy The Way, Way Back, 14-year-old Duncan (played Liam James) is doing the growing up. What is the solution to overcoming his insecurities and awkwardness? Befriending a kooky water park manager (played by Sam Rockwell) of course! But the movie's main focus is on three young boys who try to build a house in the woods and live there for the summer. It sounds exactly like something Offerman's Ron Swanson would do, but Ron Swanson isn't the one doing it. The film's marketing campaign has largely avoided using the more familiar faces of these supporting players, instead focusing on identifiable elements of youthful rebellion. This and the appeal of outdoor summer adventures are the focus of four new images released today, exclusive to Indiewire. Check them out below -- "The Kings of Summer" is scheduled to... ...

What at first seems like a fairly typical personal documentary, quickly becomes something else entirely, as Steve Hoover is dragged into the complicated life of his best friend Rocky who has devoted his life to serving HIV positive children in India. I spoke with Steve about his best friend the Rocky, about making a film that is suddenly talked about as important in the battle against aids in the developing World, and what its like to win the Grand Prize at SUNDANCE. 1. Tell me about Blood Brother? Blood Brother is an intimate portrait of Rocky Braat, my best friend. Rocky, a graphic designer, left his life and career in Pittsburgh to become family to a group of HIV positive orphans in India. I wanted to see and understand why Rocky made this dramatic decision and share Rocky’s story. 2. Tell us about your relationship with Rocky? What made you follow him to India? Our friendship is open and honest, I believe it’s unique. We are like family. I wanted to follow Rocky to India because I wanted to see his life there, it was a whole side of him that I really didn’t know or understand. I had been hearing about it from a distance in his emails and over the phone. It was hard for me to really grasp what he was doing, I just had no point of reference. I tried to picture Rocky in this village. He just seemed out of place to me ...

The film -- which is based on the true story of a young man who was shot to death by a police officer at the Oakland, California Fruitvale rapid transit station -- stars Michael B. Jordan, Octavia Spencer and Melonie Diaz and received rave reviews at SUNDANCE on top of its prizes. After hitting Cannes it will make its way to U.S. theaters on July 16th, where The Weinstein Company surely hopes it will continue to follow in the footsteps of "Beasts of the Southern Wild." That film also won big at SUNDANCE, then followed it up with Cannes and a successful summer release. Six or so months later, it was a best picture nominee.
