Very soon gamers will be able to more accurately, and accidentally, sever arteries while spinning their heads around like a mad man. Surgeon Simulator 2013 , for those that might not know, is a bit of a misnomer. Actually, it’s a very big misnomer. Rather than simulate actual heart, kidney, or lung transplant surgery, the game seeks to deliver the most insane versions of those very meticulous procedures. What makes the game so difficult, besides the fact you’re performing literal brain surgery, is the game’s idiotic (but at the same time brilliant) control scheme. Players control finger movementl with the letter keys and use ... The title tasks you with using a single hand and a number of dangerous tools to perform increasingly complex surgical operations on an unfortunate patient. The original title featured a single operation in which the player must perform a heart transplant — the expanded version features a lot more organs to accidentally dismantle, including a brain surgery level which definitely, definitely shouldn't be completed by breaking a beaker over your patient's skull. Speaking to TechRadar at E3, Razer CEO Min-Liang Tan explained that the minimal screen size was a compromise too far. "One of the common questions I get all the time is are we building a gaming phone," he said "I really think mobility is important - but to sacrifice quality of gaming, I don't think that's something our customer base is happy with." Crushed So what does Tan believe is a good game for a phone? He's a little embarrassed to say... "I play a lot of mobile games. Embarrassingly enough, I play Candy Crush . I'm going to lose some street cred, but I play some Candy Crush and all that kind of stuff. "But it's just not as engaging as a World of Warcraft or games like that. "So I don't think it will ever replace what we're doing, until such a day comes when we're able to have cloud gaming, or stream it across to a smaller device and keep that quality and that level of engagement."

Source: www.pcper.com --- Wednesday, June 12, 2013
<img src="http://www.pcper.com/files/imagecache/article_max_width/news/2013-06-12/razer1.jpg" & width="150" & height="267" style="margin: 5pt 10px 0px 0px; float: left;" border="1" align="left" alt="" />With the launch of Intel's Haswell processor, accessory maker-turned notebook vendor Razer announced a pretty slick machine, the Blade. Based on a quad-core, 37 watt Core i7 Haswell CPU and a GeForce GTX 765M GPU, the Razer Blade packs a lot of punch. It also includes 8GB of DDR3-1600 memory, an mSATA SSD and integrates a 14-in 1600x900 display. The design of the unit looks very similar to that of the MacBook Pro but the black metal finish is really an attractive style change. The embedded battery is fairly large at 70 Whr and Razer claims this will equate to a 6 hour battery life when operating non-gaming workloads. With a weight just barely creeping past 4 lbs, the Razer Blade is both portable and powerful it seems. The price tag starts at $1799 so you won't be able to pick one of these up on the cheap, but for users like me that are willing to pay a bit more for performance and style in a slim chassis, the Blade seems like a very compelling option. There are a lot of questions left to answer on this notebook including the thermal concerns of packing that much high frequency silicon into a thin and light form factor. Does the unit get hot in bad places? Can the screen quality match the performance of Haswell + Kepler? We are working with Razer to get a model in very soon to put it to the test and I am looking forward to answering if we have found the best gaming portable on the market. read more ...

New games are being developed, existing games are being ported, and every day more people get to experience just how incredible the world of immersive VR can be when done right. So we have the visual element of virtual reality gaming basically sorted, but what about controllers?
Razer Black Widow Ultimate 2013 Keyboard Review

Source: laptopmemo.com --- Wednesday, June 12, 2013
<img src="http://laptopmemo.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/DSC00594.png" & width="150" & height="100" style="margin: 5pt 10px 0px 0px; float: left;" border="1" align="left" alt="" />This probably the best straightforward keyboard that Razer USA currently produces. It’s the Black Widow Ultimate 2013. It’s everything your typical keyboard is, yet isn’t. Five programmable macro keys, along with variable backlit brightness, gaming profiles, and individual mechanical keys makes the Black Widows Ultimate 2013 a premium experience. It really is made for gamers, but now isn’t it the time to find out if it really is good for games — and you know, typing? Price as Reviewed: $140 at Razer Store Design The Black Widow Ultimate 2013 is an absolute beauty: simple design, bright backlit keys, amazing feel to each of those individual keys, and that wonderful, but rarely-heard “click, clack” sound of mechanical keyboards of old. Overall, the keyboard sports a rubber feel, but the plastic keys seem to be brushed with a coating that makes them very well-distributed — basically, it’s hard to slip your fingers off of them, and they give the perfect amount of feedback. Perhaps I would have preferred that the function key be placed closer to the Windows key, instead of being closer to the equally-awesome directional keys, but that’s just personal input. Analyzing the rest of the keyboard is fairly simple: the keyboard actually has its own set of ports. Once you’ve connected the two USB cable required for backlighting the keys and actually using the keyboard, you’re left with one microphone and one speaker audio jack. This is becau ...
