Playstation Vita parece que está de apoco logrando estabilizarse en el mercado después de un frío recibimiento por parte de los jugadores. A la consola le faltan juegos que rompan con lo visto en la consola, y Killzone: Mercenary se está perfilando como uno de ellos si miramos las nuevas imágenes que han aparecido. Estas muestras gráficas del juego muestran que perfectamente pueden rivalizar con lo que ves en Playstation 3 como primera impresión. Hay algunas que muestran muchos detalles, iluminación, y algunos escenarios donde aparecerás peleando bala a bala contra los Helghan. Si me preguntan a mí, difícilmente podría nombrar otro juego que parezca sacarle tanto el juego a Playstation Vita. No deja de ser uno de los pocos shooters que estaría valiendo la pena en la consola, al lado de esa basofia que Call of Duty . ¿Podrá mover consolas al más puro estilo Super Mario 64? While most of you are still enjoying Sleeping Dogs from earlier this month, this weeks free Playstation Plus games will be Germinator and Pinball Arcade (cross buy). For those of you that haven’t heard of Germinator, it’s a match three puzzle game, except it has some unique twists to mix it up, where as Pinball Arcade is your standard digital pinball game. Since that only leaves one game left, the amazing fighting game Blazblue (Vita) will be free next week, which I strongly suggest to anyone even remotely interested in fighting games, though be warned that it’s the largest known Vita game at the moment. If this weeks offerings don’t wow you, Sony is having a fairly large sale, which has a little of everything. First things first, the Metro: Last Light season pass will be avaiable this week for $14.99, though Plus members can score it for $11.24 or 25% off. We also have Darkstalkers Resurrection + Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo combo pack for sale, which will run normal members $15 dollars or $10.49 for Plus members. Finally Men’s Room Mayhem launches this week for $1.39 or $.97 with Plus. Each Ultimate Edition will come with the digital version of the game as well as any downloadable content that has been released between its release and now. The sad truth for me, and many people I imagine, is that I don’t have an infinite amount of money. As a result, I must make difficult decisions when it comes to purchases and where my money is best spent. So with 2 new consoles coming out this year, I will need to make a decision between the Playstation and the Xbox. I think the PS has always been the overall favourite for me. Since back in the original Final Fantasy 7 days, I have always bought PS iterations of games first. Only in this past console generation did I finally pick up an Xbox and that was just to catch up on some of the major classics like Halo and Alan Wake. So when the first few bits of news on a new console cycle starting coming out, it almost seemed a no-brainer that I would be going back to my trusted brand. But then, things started to change. First, the reveal of the new Playstation left me a little concerned. I didn’t really seeing anything during that presentation that truly blew me away. It all definitely looked prettier, and some of the social aspects that PCs have enjoyed did seem nice, but nothing that made me say “I have to have that console.” Secondly, console purchases used to be heavily influenced by exclusives. Back in the day, I had to have the next Final Fantasy game and most of my purchases usually revolved around that. Sales for Sony Corp.’s Playstation Vita fell to the No. 3 hardware rank in Japan in the latest retail data from the region. Media Create Co. this month said the PS Vita sold 12,331 units between May 6 and May 12 to rank as the No. 3 hardware for the week. It previously ranked at No. 2. By comparison, the hardware sold 22,051 the week prior. Meanwhile, the PSP sold 6,360 units to rank at No. 5 in the same period. Sony in Feb. decreased the PS Vita 3G SKU to 19,980 yen, $110 off the previous 29,980 yen price. The company in Feb. said the game division held an operating profit of $49.3 million in the third quarter, down 86 percent from the year prior. The Playstation Vita and PSP sold 2.7 million units combined in Q3. However, the company slashed shipment forecasts for the handhelds to seven million units by the end of fiscal Mar., down from a forecast of 16 million units. Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate is being developed for both the Nintendo 3DS and Playstation Vita. The game’s developer, Armature Studio , has revealed that Blackgate runs on a modified version of the Bluepoint Engine, which was used to create games like Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale . Both versions of the game will use the same engine, and according to Armature Studio’s technical director, Jack Mathews, neither of the two versions is a port of the other. The only dissimilarity between the two is a technological difference. The PlayStaion Vita version will have sharper graphics, whereas the Nintendo 3DS’ version will feature 3D effects.
