The company usually doesn’t reveal Hall of Fame inductees until a few months/weeks before that year’s WrestleMania. Ever since Bearer sadly passed away earlier this year, WWE thought it was the right thing to announce the news pretty early. Bearer is well known to be the iconic manager for The Undertaker for many years. From a storyline standpoint, he was actually the “father” of both Undertaker and Kane . Both Undertaker and Kane respected Bearer and treated him like a father outside of the ring anyway. For me it would make sense for both Kane and Undertaker to induct Bearer into the Hall of Fame together. Both men have rarely broken character before in front of WWE cameras. In an important occasion like this, it would be appropriate for both to reveal their true relationship towards Bearer. Undertaker has always been backstage during Hall of Fame ceremonies, but now would be the best time for him to become Mark Calaway instead. WWE has not announced anyone else that will be in the Hall of Fame next year as of yet. In the running, though, is Michael Hayes . According to a report from The Sun in the U.K. , William Moody, better known as Paul Bearer, will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame next year when the promotion heads to New Orleans for WrestleMania 30 , making him the first inductee in the 2014 class. From the report: WWE have confirmed that legendary wrestling manager Paul Bearer will be inducted into their Hall of Fame in 2014. Bearer, real name William Moody, passed away earlier this year at the age of 58. During his long and distinguished wrestling career, Moody was pivotal in the creation, delivery and performances of The Undertaker - helping turn his protege into one of the greatest stars in the history of the business. It should be noted that WWE hasn't publicly confirmed anything regarding any performer getting inducted into the Hall of Fame but there have been multiple reports circulating online in the form of rumors or "inside sources" citing Bearer as a leading candidate for next year's class. The report also states there is a push for The Undertaker to induct him: There will be talk at WWE headquarters this week about whether or not The Undertaker should do the induction. Taker never appears at the Hall of Fame to keep in character but there's a feeling that he should do the honors for Bearer for obvious reasons. Bearer, aka William Moody, died in March at the age of 58. His death played a huge role in the storyline of Undertaker’s WrestleMania 29 match against CM Punk. As everyone recalls, Punk stole the urn that Bearer carried with him throughout his tenure with WWE . That urn was reported to have a mystical control over Undertaker. On the Raw go-home show before WrestleMania 29, Punk attacked Undertaker with the urn and dumped what was implied to be Bearer’s ashes all over him. But it was Undertaker who got the last laugh, beating Punk to keep his unbeaten WrestleMania streak going and regaining possession of the urn. According to the report, one name mentioned as a stand-in for Undertaker at the induction is Michael “P.S.” Hayes, a longtime friend of Moody’s.
