The incident occurred in the Shergarh area of Mardan, located in the province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, during the funeral procession for the owner of a local petrol station, Haji Abdullah, who was killed by a group of unidentified gunmen on Monday. Local authorities said the bomber arrived at the funeral procession and detonated his explosives near Independent MPA Imran Khan Mohmand, Geo News reported. Mohmand, who was the apparent target of the attack, was among the killed. In addition to the 28 deaths, authorities said 57 others were also injured in the blast. They were transported to the Mardan Medical Complex. The Provincial Information Ministry added that Mohmand had previously received threats, and two security guards were deployed for his protection. By the time that landmark date comes around, China also aims to become the world’s leading technological power and the main force in global innovation and scientific development. There have been challenges along the way, and the global recession in particular took a toll on China’s export-oriented growth model, a model that had achieved a stunning growth rate of 9% for the Chinese economy. The recession slowed this rate down, but China responded by trying to boost domestic demand and upgrading the quality of its products. Thus, when China speaks, the world listens. And at a lunch hosted by China’s vice minister Ai Ping for a 14-member delegation of journalists, writers and parliamentarians round the world, there were many opportunities to both listen and speak. Even as its international clout grows, China has been careful to avoid the kind of entanglements that have characterised superpower policy. Of course, that’s a term that the Chinese leadership chooses not to use, as one questioner discovered. “The word ‘Super power’ gives an impression of hegemony,” said Ai Ping, interrupting the questioner before he could finish. The lunch was followed by a meeting with Chinese Vice President Li Yu ...

Sartaj Aziz, leader of PAKISTAN’s ruling Nawaz league, said that the drone strike being carried out by the the CIA’s drones attack will be stopped soon. “On-going dialogue between PAKISTAN and the United States will be useful to solve drone attacks’ issue,” said Aziz, who is the adviser on foreign affairs to Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. According to statistics, 13 attacks have been carried in the PAKISTAN reported in 2013 so far while 14 strikes were conducted in 2012. Stopping the attacks and maintaining law and order situation in the country are the two basic commitments of the newly elected PML-N government. More than 40,000 civilians have been killed in the war against terror in PAKISTAN while the country’s economy faced a loss of around one billion dollars. Meanwhile Masood Ahmad Khan, PAKISTAN’s representative in the United Nations, has also demanded the US to stop the attacks in the tribal area. Majority of Pakistanis believe that drone attacks are causing civilian deaths and these strikes are not helping the country to eliminate the terrorism. However, only few have strong argument that the CIA’s drone operation can be helpful to eliminate the militants.
