The Chill are looking to start the Season with a couple of victories as they venture towards making the post Season for the seventh Season in a row. WSA Winnipeg started its Season on the road last weekend when the side traveled to Des Moines, Iowa to face the Menace and lost 1-0. The Chill are 7-1 against WSA Winnipeg who is now entering their third year in the PDL. Not traveling with the team due to injuries are 2012 PDL MVP Sullivan Silva, new comer Zephaniah Thomas and Adam Augruso. The Chill look to take six points this weekend prior to the home opener on June 1, 2013 against the Des Moines Menace. The Chill are looking to newcomer Sunny Omoregie and Gavin Hoy to fill Silva’s shoes and carry the load up front. Omoregie most recent play has been with a first division team in Malta while Gavin Hoy of Thunder Bay plays his collegiate soccer at Oakland University. The Chill’s back end is again being steadied by veteran goalkeeper Stephan Paterson, who is returning for his 10th year with the club. In addition, three out of four defenders from last year also return to solidify one of the stingiest defenses in the PDL in 2012 who allowed only 10 goals in 16 ...

This is how you know I am tired. But fuck tired! Tonight we're capping of Open Season 's successful run of happy hour fashion shows with a secret new collaboration between two heavy hitters on the local scene, called Immaculate Martin. Even I don't know exactly what to expect, but I'm vibing that it's going to be a little irreverent, a little non-traditional, and in the spirit of fun. Clearly others are feeling the same way (or just can't resist their curiosity), because online tickets sold out this morning. But don't freak out! There will be a limited amount of tickets being sold for $7 at the door, and we'll do our best to get as many people in as the fire marshal allows. That said, doors Open at 6 at tonight's venue, Dig A Pony , and while the show won't start until 7, you'll want to get there early to nab a good spot and ticket if you waited too long! Also, stick around for a set from the awesome DJ Cooky Parker and live that "Thursday is the new Friday" dream. We'll sleep when we're dead. Meow. Starting with a line out the door and a sold out show, I knew this night was going to be well received. The show was set to live music by The Lovers , who were all decked out in Pendleton. In attendance: none other than the Mayor, Charlie Hales, and his wife Nancy, who was also decked out in Pendleton's The Portland Collection . The looks were stunning, and the models were top notch. Accidentally shoot a kid in the parking lot at school. It’s perfectly legal. No freaking kidding, folks. Mystery Shooter Man, an “employee” at Rangeview High School was not charged when his pistol accidentally went off Monday afternoon while moving it to the glove box of his car in the school parking lot. The bullet struck an 18-year-old student in the leg, causing what police said was a “significant” injury. Mystery Shooter Man was giving the kid a ride home when the gun went off. This only gets better. I affectionately call him “Mystery Shooter Man” because neither police nor school officials will say anything about him — because they don’t want to identify who he is. Oh, it gets so much better, folks. So, after Mystery Shooter Man accidentally peels one off into the kid’s leg, Mystery Shooter Man doesn’t call 911. No, he drives his accidental victim to the hospital, but we don’t know which one because that would be offering up too much information. As far as we can tell, Mystery Shooter Man never did actually call police to say he’d shot a kid in the parking lot of the school. That must of been the job of hospital types, who, I can only hope, aren’t so accustomed to bullet-wounded kids being driven to the ER by the Mystery Shooter Man who shot them in the school parking lot, that they just speed-dial the non-emergency number at Aurora Police Department to report, yup, another kid shot in the parking lot by a school em ...

Open Season: After the Fashion

However! It's also taking place at what are probably four of your favorite places to hang out in on any given beautiful day in late spring/early summer or whatever we are calling this meteorological stroke of luck (global warming?). The shows are scheduled early so you can be bright-eyed and bushy tailed on weekday mornings for that big PowerPoint presentation. (Doors are at 6, shows at 7, and you'll be tucked in and snoozing before 9.) OR, you are mightier than weekday mornings, and you're down to be out a bit later, in which case the venues are all planning post-show shindigs: Monday, May 13 after Holly Stalder/Emily Ryan/Liza Rietz at the White Owl Social Club , DJ Maxamillion will take over. On Tuesday at Produce Row , Reif and Brady Lange will be followed by the Supper Set with DJ Rev Shines, an all-vinyl mix of soul, jazz, and rare grooves. On Wednesday, Pendleton's The Portland Collection takes over at Rontoms , followed by... nothing. Because have you seen their patio?! And the weather?! And finally on Thursday after Immaculate Martin at Dig A Pony , DJ Cooky Parker will cap off the whole shebang. Tickets each night are a nominal $5, and they're on sale and going fast !
