Verizon Wireless will start accepting pre-orders for the HTC Windows Phone 8X and Nokia Lumia 822 tomorrow, November 9th at 1AM ET. Unfortunately the carrier isn't revealing specific release dates for either handset, maintaining the vague "by Thanksgiving" timeframe Steve Ballmer shared during Microsoft's Windows Phone 8 presser. As expected, the 16GB 8X will retail for $199 — it seems Verizon has no intention of carrying the 8GB model (which AT&T will offer for $99 ) in its lineup. Blue, red, and black are your color choices, with the latter two exclusive to Big Red. When I try to send the SMS over 3G the phone reports "Can't send message". If you hold the message then click View Error, it reports: "Can't send We're having trouble sending your message. SMS error: 1" All other features seem to work perfectally i.e. data, voice, recieving SMS, sedning SMS over 2G. This bug is consistantly reproducable in Seattle and Redmond, WA Firmware: 1532.5951.1250.1012 SMS center number: +12063130004 APN: epc.tmobile.com MMSC: http://mms.msg.eng.t-mobile.com/mms/wapenc I believe that the people on thread at http://support.t-mobile.com/thread/38915 are having the same problem. My assumtion is that Jeffneves fell back to 2G after installing the Portico update and just assumed that the issue was fixed. ...
