Getting everything ready for another very profitable NFL season, as I tore it up all season long here. And this will the first year I enter the LVH Superbook Contest. I intend to take home the first place prize!! Im not changing anything I do, just the same old school handicapping and digging I have been doing for years in the college and pro football. This is my starting point for every season in the NFL for me, where I go through all the free-agency pick ups and drafts and rank my teams. Will update 5 teams at a time throughout the week. 1.49ers: They had several draft picks this year, and they didn't let any go to waste as they drafted for the future, and also picked up a safety they desperately needed. They are the team to beat in the NFL from my point of view, but the bad thing is, everyone in their division got better as well. Expecting a dog fight for first place all season long. Liking the offensive weapons they picked up, but didn't do much to help their D-Line this offseason. 2.Broncos: Defense wins championships... but it also helps when you have a HoF QB at the helm of a powerful offense. In my opinion, this is the top defense for the 2013 season. Barring any injuries this team has a shot at recovering from the fatal mistake vs the Ravens in the playoffs last year and making it to the big game. 3.Seahawks: How can you get better in the running game then what you did last year? I really thought I'd take heat for putting the Dallas Cowboys so near the bottom, but I obviously underestimated the hate fans have for the Cowboys in general. It must be the arrogance of "America's Team" that rubs anyone who isn't a Cowboy fan the wrong way. In any case, I felt good about where I put them and am glad to have people vocalized their support. As for the Carolina Panthers here, I am simply not a believe in Cam Newton the leader yet. He strikes me as a quitter when the chips are down. He may not always strike me that way, because maturity comes at different times for different people. That said, I need to see it before I start to believe it and until I do, they are a sub-.500 football team in my eyes. 25. There is a reason why the media considers the NFC to be the dominate conference and its because five of the six worst teams in the NFL are from the AFC. The one NFC team I put near the bottom, the Cardinals , was vehemently rejected by many of the readers. Oh well, someone has to lose half of the games each year! The irony is, the bad AFC teams will likely end up with a better record than their bad NFC counterparts because they'll be playing each other more. Oh well, thankfully for us Broncos fans the top of the AFC is also at or near the top of the NFL, so not all is lost. 27. It appears a lot of people think the Arizona Cardinals are a .500 football team next year, which means the St. Louis Rams are either terrible or also at least a .500 football team. Recently the Denver Broncos sister site Mile High Report did a breakdown of their power rankings and had the Cardinals listed as the 29 th worst team in the NFL, just above the Oakland Raiders and the Jacksonville Jaguars .
