Source: www.therxforum.com --- Wednesday, May 15, 2013
Getting everything ready for another very profitable NFL season, as I tore it up all season long here. And this will the first year I enter the LVH Superbook Contest. I intend to take home the first place prize!! Im not changing anything I do, just the same old school handicapping and digging I have been doing for years in the college and pro football. This is my starting point for every season in the NFL for me, where I go through all the free-agency pick ups and drafts and rank my teams. Will update 5 teams at a time throughout the week. 1.49ers: They had several draft picks this year, and they didn't let any go to waste as they drafted for the future, and also picked up a safety they desperately needed. They are the team to beat in the NFL from my point of view, but the bad thing is, everyone in their division got better as well. Expecting a dog fight for first place all season long. Liking the offensive weapons they picked up, but didn't do much to help their D-Line this offseason. 2.Broncos: Defense wins championships... but it also helps when you have a HoF QB at the helm of a powerful offense. In my opinion, this is the top defense for the 2013 season. Barring any injuries this team has a shot at recovering from the fatal mistake vs the Ravens in the playoffs last year and making it to the big game. 3.Seahawks: How can you get better in the running game then what you did last year? Well somehow the Seahawks found a way to ...

It must be the arrogance of "America's Team" that rubs anyone who isn't a Cowboy fan the wrong way. In any case, I felt good about where I put them and am glad to have people vocalized their support. As for the Carolina Panthers here, I am simply not a believe in Cam Newton the leader yet. He strikes me as a quitter when the chips are down. He may not always strike me that way, because maturity comes at different times for different people. That said, I need to see it before I start to believe it and until I do, they are a sub-.500 football team in my eyes. 25. Carolina Panthers (2012 Record: 7-9) Panthers 2013 Draft Picks 1.14 Star Lotulelei , DT, Utah 2.12 Kawann Short , DT, Purdue 4.11 Edmund Kugbila , OG, Valdosta St. 5.15 A.J. Klein , ILB, Iowa State 6.14 Kenjon Barner , RB, Oregon The Panthers had a great draft this year, so why the step backwards? Because their best draft picks probably won't be NFL-ready until their second year in the league. They picked up defensive tackles with their first two picks and that position is notorious for young players to slowly develop. Another reason is Cam Newton. As dynamic and explosive he is, I still sense his maturity level is awfully low, which means he will continue to be inconsistent and underachieving. You have to put in th ...

Where will your favorite analyst or sports person land? (probably not high) Ranked on: Infotainment value, being a pros pro and strength of takes. 9. Rush Limbaugh Infotainment Value: 8 Rush is a Gayle Sayers type of analyst= his career was a bright shining beacon of how beautiful and graceful journalism can be even if we only saw him for like three weeks before he quit on principal. He was always jukin’ and keeping Tom Jackson stuttering with his takes that in retrospect were to strong for there time. The only problem is they really missed out on a opportunity to really pick his brain on potential nicknames for some of these skill position players you see these days. Being a Pros Pro: minus 4 Allthough Rush had so many great qualitys,, assistants on NFL Countdown were more likely to find Rush practicing prescription medicine on himself then practicing his one shots for “Contender/Pretender”. I guess thats what you get for following what you think are Doctors orders. Unlike certain former alltime rushing champions it was refreshing to see a analyst throw up in their mouth because their overdosing rather than trying to pronounce “aberration” Strength of Takes: 10 When ever I talk to someone about Rush (cashiers, crossing guards, you know=people that like talking to me) they always agree that if Rush had analyzed in todays NFL he would of actually been one of the more reasona ...

The Cowboys are easily overrated by most observers, with some even thinking playoffs. Give me a break! The New York Giants are a playoff team. The Washington Redskins are a playoff team. Heck, even the Philadelphia Eagles could be a playoff team. The Dallas Cowboys underachieved when they had superior talent and now they have inferior talent, so I can't imagine they'll suddenly change their ho-hum mentality. 26. Dallas Cowboys (2012 Record: 8-8) Cowboys 2013 Draft Picks 1.31 Travis Frederick , C, Wisconsin 2.15 Gavin Escobar , TE, San Diego State 3.12 Terrance Williams , WR, Baylor 3.18 J.J. Wilcox , SS, Georgia Southern 4.17 B.W. Webb , CB, William & Mary 5.18 Joseph Randle , RB, Oklahoma State 6.17 DeVonte Holloman , OLB, South Carolina This franchise reminds me a lot of the Denver Broncos circa 2009-2010. It feels like the wheels are going to come flying off at any time. I'm going to predict that it happens this year. With Tony Romo's massive new contract and disgruntled players saying "Put up or shut up" about the contract just reeks of a franchise on the verge of catastrophe. Jerry Jones isn't just becoming the new Al Davis, he already is . When the Cowboys flop, it will be the coaches who suffer the wrath, but the only guy who shoul ...

The one NFC team I put near the bottom, the Cardinals , was vehemently rejected by many of the readers. Oh well, someone has to lose half of the games each year! The irony is, the bad AFC teams will likely end up with a better record than their bad NFC counterparts because they'll be playing each other more. Oh well, thankfully for us Broncos fans the top of the AFC is also at or near the top of the NFL, so not all is lost. 27. Tennessee Titans (2012 Record: 6-10) Titans 2013 Draft Picks 1.10 Chance Warmack , OG, Alabama 2.2 Justin Hunter , WR, Tennessee 3.8 Blidi Wreh-Wilson , CB, Connecticut 3.35 Zaviar Gooden , OLB, Missouri 4.10 Brian Schwenke , C, California 5.9 Lavar Edwards , DE, LSU 6.34 Khalid Wooten , CB, Nevada 7.42 Daimion Stafford , FS, Nebraska The Tennessee Titans did not really improve their team at skill positions, but I do like their picks within the trenches in the first and fourth rounds. This team still has the same problem it had last year, which is a quarterback that isn't going to get the job done. I feel the same way about Jake Locker as I do Blaine Gabbert . He is entering his third year and is a 55% passer. Whooptiedo! If you think Ryan Fitzpatrick is going to get the job done, then you must have missed watching the Buffalo Bills for the last few season ...

Is the NFC West really going to win that many games when they all play six division games each year? From where I sit, someone's got to lose and I rated the Cardinals as the least talented team in the division so a down the list they go! As a consolation, the Buffalo Bills , though ranked higher are likely a worse team. They just get to play really bad football teams within the division to inch their way ahead. 28. It all hinges on how quickly E.J. Manuel works out. I actually love the kid and I think he has a level of maturity you rarely see from young jocks coming out of college, which I attribute to the very real impact cancer can have on immediate family members. Just a few years ago, I would say I was a Skins fan and people would laugh at me. Today, they are finally getting some respect. Totally amazing what a Franchise QB will do for a team. ...
