James Murphy to Write Original Music for 'Betrayal' on Broadway Starring Rachel Weisz & Daniel Craig By: Hillary Weston Published: Wed, 19 Jun 2013 Back in April, we expressed our unwavering thrill that genius playwright Harold Pinter's Betrayal would be heading to Broadway. And not only that, but Rachel Weisz and Daniel Craig would be taking on the leading roles in the production, with direction by the iconic Mike Nichols. And as his work is wont to be, Pinter 's play is a biting and absurd tale of the painful romantic entanglement caught in the nuances of everyday life. Told chronologically in reverse, Betrayal will star Weisz as a woman involved in a serious affair, with Craig as her unassuming husband. So to top it off, as if we weren't already brimming with excitement, it appears that former LCD Sound System frontman James Murphy will be helming the original music for the play . And oh yes, I can certainly live with that. Two veteran directors have added a couple of very talented actors to their next films. First up, Jason Schwartzman has signed on to star alongside Christoph Waltz, Amy Adams, and Krysten Ritter in director Tim Burton’s true story Big Eyes. The story focuses on the artistic coupling of Margaret (Adams) and Walter (Waltz) Keane. Walter became famous in the 1950s and 60s for paintings featuring saucer-eyed kids, though it was the shy Margaret who really did the work. Margaret eventually tired of the misplaced credit, which led to a divorce and a heated court battle to prove authorship of the paintings. It’s refreshing to see Burton stepping out of his comfort zone casting-wise with this film, as Schwartzman makes yet another Burton-newbie added to the cast. The Wrap reports that the actor will play a San Francisco art gallery owner named Ruben in the film. Hit the jump for casting news concerning Ron Howard’s next film. With the ASU hockey team losing four senior forwards in 2012 and another six in 2013, coach Greg Powers didn't hesitate to reload on his offensive weapons. After signing seven new offensive Sun Devils, Powers added two more this past week, including 20-year-old Sean Murphy . The 5-foot-8, 170-pound North Carolina native has logged just about as many - if not more - minutes than any recruit coming in. Over the last three seasons, Murphy has played in 125 NAHL games and 22 USHL games - including 10 NAHL playoff games. "My decision to play in the USHL was an easy one because I always wanted to play at the top level of hockey possible," Murphy said. "It was a great experience and I learned a lot and met a lot of good friends along the way. The NAHL was also a great league to play in, and it helped me gain a lot of confidence on the ice and off it as well." The 2012-13 season was arguably the best season for Murphy, as he recorded 19 goals and 21 assists through 45 games playing for the Sioux Falls Stampede and Soo Eagles. Powers is anxious to see what he can bring to the ice for the Sun Devils this upcoming season. "Sean brings an overall approach to the game that will, in my opinion, allows him to be a super star at our level," Powers said.
