Craig Venter ended his keynote at the CALBIO event in San Diego. It was just long enough for someone to walk up to a floor microphone and ask the question that was absolutely in the air – if not on everyone’s mind. Basically, what did Dr. Venter think of the Supreme Court’s decision on the Myriad Genetics case case – which was breaking news that very morning? “I applaud the Supreme Court’s decision today … which was the right thing to do.” J. Craig Venter, Ph.D., Founder, Chairman and CEO of the J. Craig Venter Institute (JCVI) Mary-Claire King, the geneticist who actually discovered the BRCA-1 and BRCA-2 genes, was “delighted” and added this quote to an article in Slate. “Genes had been patented before; the cystic fibrosis gene was patented. But I don't think anyone – from the U.S. National Institutes of Health or anywhere else – anticipated the level of patent protection Myriad has engaged in.” Mary-Claire King – Geneticist and Professor at the University of Washington I managed to catch up with Dr. David Agus by email who noted the landmark ruling would transform medicine into a new molecular era. “Effectively, the Supreme Court has democratized DNA. We all know the decision made sense on moral grounds, but this is a case where it’s so nice to see the judicial system agreeing.” Dr. David Agus – noted author and Professor of Medicine and Engineering at the University of Southe ...

Adding insult to their insults, the Eton schoolboys got the best of the brawl, leading Weller to write, “What chance have you got against a tie and a crest?” The reference to the school uniform and badge at Eton, a storied independent boarding school, served as reminder of the uphill battle the English working class faced against the country’s privileged elite. “We came out of it naturally the worst,” sang Weller, providing recap and foreshadowing at the same time. A friend mentioned the tie and crest line following Fairfield Prep’s 12-9 victory over the Tigers in the Class L state tournament semifinals last Wednesday. As a Catholic school, Prep draws students from many Fairfield County towns, and, coincidentally (or not coincidentally) enough, many of those students also happen to be superb athletes. Ridgefield would know. In addition to the boys lacrosse ousting, Prep uprooted Ridgefield teams from the boys basketball, boys hockey and baseball state tournaments this school year. Last spring, the Jesuits beat Ridgefield in the Class L boys lacrosse state finals; in 2011, Prep defeated Ridgefield in the boys basketball state semifinals; in 2010, the Jesuits downed Ridgefield i ...

Image: CC Michael Diggles/Wikimedia Commons A major rare earth metals mine in the U.S. will resume operations in 2011. Molycorp closed the California rare earth metals mine in 2004 because it couldn’t compete with Chinese suppliers. But now China is restricting exports and the cost of strategic metals are soaring. The Molycorp Mountain Pass mine A dormant mine in Mountain Pass, Calif., owned by Molycorp used to be the richest source of rare earth elements in the world. Molycorp’s Mountain Pass mine closed over environmental concerns and overwhelming competition from China. However, since the Mountain Pass mine closed China has built a Monopoly in rare earth metals that threatens the economy and national security of the U.S. Now Molycorp has secured permits and financing to restart production. In 2011, the company will produce about 3,000 tons of rare earth metals processed from ore stockpiled before the mine was closed. In 2012, it projects production at 20,000 tons. China’s rare earths Monopoly Global demand for rare earth metals was 125,000 tons in 2010. China controls 97 percent of the world’s rare earth metals production.

Source: whatreallyhappened.com --- Saturday, June 15, 2013
The Federal Reserve has monopolized our money, through creating so much it eroded the Gold Standard and erased our backing. Hans Hoppe the economist explains that there is only 10% real cash to back up a demand, and the other 90% is money created out of thin air. Example the FED has one hundred dollars it loans $1000 out to the financial institutions. Those same banks will loan out $10,000 creating an upside-down pyramid out of one hundred real dollars. These extra funds created inflate the prices of things . During the 1920?s the FED pushed so much cash into the economy lulling the people into believing they were living the good life, until the repercussions took effect in 1929 crashing the market. During this period the only people who did not lose were the ones who had savings in gold. Roosevelt borrowed until turning blue, John F. Kennedy tried to strip the Federal Reserve of its Power via the Executive Order No. 1110, was killed right after. ...
