            <title>Coastal Mississippi Healthcare Foundation Pays It Forward, Donates $30,000 to Oklahoma Tornado Survivors</title>

            <description>&lt;p&gt;&lt;font color="Gray"&gt;Source: mhanewsnow.typepad.com --- Monday, June 10, 2013&lt;/font&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Singing River Health System employees have paid it forward by supporting Oklahoma &lt;b&gt;tornado&lt;/b&gt; survivors with a generous donation to Coastal &lt;b&gt;Mississippi&lt;/b&gt; Healthcare Foundation (CMHF). The Health System-based charity was a previous recipient of aid following Hurricane Katrina. CMHF raised more than $15,000 for the victims of the Oklahoma &lt;b&gt;tornado&lt;/b&gt; disaster. More than 750 Singing River Health System employees, physician partners, patients and their family members donated to this cause. VHA, Inc., a closely affiliated organization who partners with non-profit hospitals, agreed to match the donation dollar-for-dollar, bringing the total raised to $30,000. The money will be donated to the medical employees of the Norman Regional Health System who were affected by the recent storms. The VHA Foundation was a great source of comfort for the employees of Singing River Health System following Hurricane Katrina in 2005. Along with many other organizations, VHA donated money to CMHF after Hurricane Katrina allowing the organization to distribute more than $800,000 to SRHS employees affected by Hurricane Katrina. “When our employees heard the news of the devastating tornadoes in Oklahoma, many immediately responded by saying, let’s pay it forward, and that is exactly what we have been able to do,” said Daniel Shepherd, executive director for Coastal &lt;b&gt;Mississippi&lt;/b&gt; Healthcare Foundation.
