Two comedian superstars, Owen Wilson and Jim Carrey (Ace Ventura, Bruce Almighty), are set to star in the film Loomis Fargo. The film is based off of the book: Heist!: The $17 Million Loomis Fargo Theft by Jeff Diamant . The film revolves around the story of four southerners that, as you can probably tell from the title, stole $17 million from an armored Loomis Fargo truck in 1997. Based off of the real-life events and characters, the film is set to be directed by Jared Hess (Nacho Libre, Napoleon Dynamite), but there is yet to be an estimated release or filming date. Sounds like an interesting concept, will these two comedian superpowers come together to create something truly amazing? Action heist comedy from Relativity Jim Carrey's Dumb & Dumber sequel is struggling to find a home , and Owen Wilson's The Internship didn't quite smash the US box office last weekend. But there's always the next project, which in this case they'll be facing together. Carrey and Wilson will be joining forces for the first time since The Cable Guy in an action comedy for director Jared Hess . It's currently untitled, but when the screenplay was still doing the rounds in Hollywood it went by the moniker Loomis Fargo . Emily Spivey wrote the original script, which has since been overhauled by Chris Bowman and Hubbel Palmer. The story involves an armoured car driver who channels his disaffection with the job into a plan to liberate $20m from a bank vault. Sadly for him, his cohorts double-cross him, and proceed to live it up on the robbery's proceeds while he's left alone on the run in Mexico. Not unnaturally, our hero's next plan is to get even. There's no indication yet which actor has plumped for which role, but we'd speculate that, if they're playing to type, Wilson will be the likeably put-upon everyman, while Carrey is the rascal who absconds with the loot. On se poile déjà. Il fut un temps où Jim Carrey et Owen Wilson étaient deux des rois incontestés de la comédie US. Une époque révolue malheureusement, les deux hommes ayant connu des échecs artistiques et / ou commerciaux retentissants. Ce qui ne nous empêche pas d’aimer toujours autant les deux bonhommes. Alors les voir réunis dans un même projet ne peut que nous réjouir, surtout qu’ils ne s’étaient que furtivement croisés dans DISJONCTÉ. Owen Wilson, qui doit bientôt tourner INHERENT VICE de Paul Thomas Anderson, a en effet signé pour Loomis Fargo de Jared Hess (NAPOLEON DYNAMITE), projet sur lequel Carrey a été engagé à l’automne dernier et dont le titre définitif devrait changer. Loomis Fargo contera une histoire vraie, celle de quatre sudistes attaquant un fourgon blindé et récupérant un magot de 17 millions de dollars. Carrey avait été embauché pour incarner Dave Ghant, un des quatre néo-malfrats, et plus particulièrement un ancien militaire et agent de sécurité pour la société de convoyage Loomis Fargo qui va se faire doubler par ses comparses et va tout faire pour se venger. Wilson devrait incarner l’un des complices du personnage de Carrey. Le tournage devait au départ débuter ce printemps, mais cela n’a pas été le cas.
