Source: forums.macrumors.com --- Wednesday, May 22, 2013
Long story short, I have a Mid-2010 MBP with a damaged Logic Board, sporting a C2D 2.4Ghz. I have seen on eBay a Mid-2009 MBP that suffered a fall ( http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...:X:RTQ:GB:1123 ). According to the engineer report, only the display assembly, top case, and bottom case are damaged, but the unit stays on when top case is disconnected. This leads me to think that the Logic Board is working. Having looked up the serial number, the machine has a 2.26 C2D. According to Everymac, the machines are basically identical. Bottom line is: will this Logic Board fit into my laptop? Thanks, ...

This is the first time I've posted in a forum like this. I bought my iMac 3.06 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo, 8GB 1067 Mhz DDR3, with 1TB Harddrive exactly 3 years ago. All I do is run Logic 9, and occasionally download some music/films. In the last year or so, I began nearing my HD capacity and things started to get reeeeal sloowww. I let it get to about 96% full, and recently freed up 250GB of space. This hasn't helped nearly as much as I thought it would. Any suggestions? I have tried running Logic in 64 bit mode, and not noticed a significant improvement. I keep my buffer size at 1024 when programming/editing/mixing. What are some fundamental things I need to look for within my system to get her running at full potential!?? Thanks ...

iMac G5 iSight PSU or logic board faulty?

Source: forums.macrumors.com --- Monday, May 13, 2013
Hi, really need some help as I've run out of ideas! Friend asked me to have a look at his iMac G5 20" with iSight as he couldn't power it on. I agreed and after a fair bit of dismantling and troubleshooting, decided it was the PSU and replaced the PSU with one off eBay. I installed the new one tonight but still no joy. I've followed the instructions in the service manual to help troubleshoot and find that none of the LEDs on the Logic Board light up. When LED1 doesn't even light up, manual suggests the PSU is at fault but it's been replaced and the new PSU is making a faint hum so I know there's at least some juice getting to it. I've also checked the power outlet, power cord, and tried resetting the SMU. If the Logic Board was faulty would I at least get that LED1 lighting up? Is it likely to be the Logic Board that is at fault now? Any way I can verify that in any other way? All thoughts and suggestions welcome. I insert the install disk for Mac OS X, boot it up, and then proceed to disk utility so I can format the new hard drive.

Source: forums.macrumors.com --- Thursday, May 02, 2013
So the RAM failed on my MacBook Pro retina and they had to replace the Logic Board, I've noticed on the new one that my thunderbolt port closer to the MagSafe is missing half it's shielding, what happened and what should I do? Another thing I noticed is my MagSafe port is a little pushed in compared to what it used to be (they also replaced the top case) and i think they scratched the plastic hindge on the side.
Logic board intermittent problems a mystery

Source: forums.macrumors.com --- Tuesday, April 30, 2013
I had a friend find a macbook pro 13inch early 2011 in the trash. It starts up sometimes. Here are the clues: When I connect the hdd and turn it on, the screen is black but the apple chime sounds, slowly, eventually the screen turns to blank white, then boot screen appears after 1 minute It has frozen at the point of the loading wheel, but more often loads all the way. A full startup takes about 4 minutes. After loading all the way it works fine but freezes occasionally requiring a restart. The keyboard backlight doesn't turn on until the OS has loaded When I disconnected the hard drive and turn the computer on, the fan runs really high, full blast until it is unplugged or turned off I have a bad feeling that this is a Logic Board problem. If someone has a feeling as to what part of the Logic Board these problems might be caused by, that would be helpful. Best case scenario, I hope this to be a problem with one part of the Logic Board so that I could replace that part. ...

Source: forums.macrumors.com --- Saturday, April 27, 2013
Hi! this time I've picked up a 14' ibook G4 (1.2 GHz version) for 25€, the graphics card is messed up and would need reballing... I would like to know it there are any other Logic boards that fit this model and are a direct swap, if I could find a cheap one I would go that way instead of trying to repair the original Board... thanks in advance! ...
