As founding dean of the new college, Rimby will be instrumental in creating a collaborative atmosphere for several academic disciplines. Rimby graduated from BloomsburgUniversity in 1976 with a degree in social studies education. While teaching at GovernorMifflinHigh School, she earned a Master’s degree in history from KutztownUniversity. She then enrolled in a doctoral program at the University of Pittsburgh, earning her Ph.D. in U.S. History in 1992. She was an adjunct faculty member at Pennsylvania State University-Harrisburg, MillersvilleUniversity and GettysburgCollege while completing her dissertation. Rimby has been a faculty member in the Department of History and Philosophy at ShippensburgUniversity since 1992. Her teaching assignments have included secondary teaching methods, history and women’s studies courses. During her years at Shippensburg, she also served as director of the Interdisciplinary Women Studies Minor, the chair of the History and Philosophy Department, and more recently Interim Associate Dean of &lt;b&gt;Arts&lt;/b&gt; and Sciences.
