StyleList: What are your three travel essentials? Liya Kebede: A good book! Right now I'm in between, but I'm trying to get the new Paulo Cohelo book. I always have my Mac with me because I watch a lot of films, and I keep everything in my LemLem bag. SL: When picking your wardrobe for Cannes, what is the process like? LK: It's very complicated, and its a very intense. Until about a week ago I did not know what I was wearing. I look at a lot of different things, and sometimes I work with designers and they make something custom. This time i found something really special and I'm going a little out of the box. SL: What is the best beauty tip anyone has ever given you? LK: Take good care of your skin, and hydrate. If you have good skin, everything else will fall into place. SL: Tell us about your company LemLem. You've designed for the fashion and home markets, but are there any other areas you'd like to expand to? LK: Definitely. Just when I thought I was over heavily embellished gowns at Cannes Film Festival , Liya Kebede tingled my senses as she took to the red carpet at the Grand Théâtre Lumière in France for the ‘Jimmy P. (Psychotherapy of a Plains Indian)’ premiere this evening. The model, who has been most consistent at Cannes, wore a Roberto Cavalli Fall 2013 gown. On a cold and rainy night, she wisely opted for a long-sleeve suede and chiffon gown embroidered with Swarovski crystals with added bedazzlement courtesy of her Boucheron ‘Ava’ earrings and ‘Serpent Boheme’ ring. Liya recently told the press that she loves to travel with her kids. “I love traveling with them and opening their eyes to other cultures,” said the model. “It is very heartwarming to see them blossom and grow right in front of my eyes. Ultimately, I hope that they will cherish family, health, freedom, respect and creativity as much as I do.” Kebede shared her secret to balancing stardom with motherhood with Harper’s Bazar earlier this month saying, “It’s possible to embrace both,” explained the model during her talk. “I want to spend as much time as possible with my children, so I always like to keep my beauty and fashion routines effortless… but still chic!
