Veterinarian Jake Conway was never one to complain about his bachelor status, until he met Meg Stanford. When Meg returns to her father’s ranch after his death it is with mixed emotions. When her mother whisked her away she was abruptly cut off, never to hear from him again. Now that she is back she finds she has a half-brother who is strongly attached to his horse who appears lame. Jake comes to take a look at the horse only to find himself intrigued by the feisty red head, the feelings mutual but Meg is gun-shy about getting involved in a temporary fling when she plans to pack up and leave first chance she gets. A wonderful story filled with emotion, I truly felt for Meg for she never got the answers as to why she was cut so abruptly from her father’s life and she struggles with her grief. Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Mike Kostka has broken a bone in his right index finger and will not play against the Boston Bruins in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinal on Saturday night, according to head coach Randy Carlyle on Thursday afternoon. It remains unclear when Kostka sustained the injury. He played 22:22 during Game 1, which included 8:03 of ice time in the third period. In addition, Cody Franson has a bruised foot, and his status is uncertain for Saturday. Franson was seen walking out of practice with a visible limp. Carlyle stated he is thinking about playing Jake Gardiner and Ryan O'Byrne in Game 2. Gardiner last played against the New York Islanders on April 18, but he was scratched for the final four games of the regular season, as well as Wednesday night's contest with the Bruins. O'Byrne was acquired by the Maple Leafs on April 3 via trade with the Colorado Avalanche . In exchange for the defenseman, Colorado received a fourth-round draft pick in 2014.
