Odd, given the content of his lamentable film Innocence Of Muslims is not the reason for him serving a year in prison. Plus the suggestion that he is culpable for the violence of others, or should pay a price for blasphemy, is more ludicrous than the acting. Rather he was previously convicted of bank fraud committed to the tune of just under a million dollars. Part of his probation agreement meant not using aliases plus not use computers for transactions nor access the Internet without clear permission of the Probation Office. On all counts this was something he failed to do in making the film, including using an alias while raising finance for the project. More on that can be found here . Unfortunately, just as Tommy Robinson (EDL leader) was made out to be a political prisoner despite being sentenced for clearly breaking the law, people have made out Nakoula is one too: The article sited above, written by Rich Lowry can be read here. That article opens: Nakoula Basseley Nakoula deserves a place in American history. He is the first person in this country jailed for violating Islamic anti-blasphemy laws. You won’t find that anywhere in the charges against him, of course. As a practical matter, though, everyone knows that Nakoula wouldn’t be in jail if he hadn’t produce ...

Source: www.fireandreamitchell.com --- Monday, May 06, 2013
Nakoula Basseley Nakoula was the creator of the ‘Innocence of Muslims’ Youtube video that the left and the media used as an excuse for the Benghazi attacks. Nakoula remains in jail eight months later for no reason. On the Sunday news shows following the attack, Susan Rice went on five different shows to blame the Nakoula Basseley Nakoula and the Innocence of Muslims Youtube video as a reason for the Benghazi attack. $70,000 spent on ad featuring Obama and Clinton denouncing ‘anti-Islam’ film in Pakistan. Both Obama and Hillary Clinton denouncing the Innocence of Muslims Youtube video with Arabic writing for subtitles. At the funeral for the dead Americans after the attack, Charles Woods, father of Ty Woods was told by Hillary Clinton ‘ We’re going to have that person arrested and prosecuted that did the video .’ He was arrested just a few days after the attack as a martyr for the Obama regime to blame for the attack. More than 8 months later, Nakoula Basseley Nakoula remains in the jail and the media doesn’t mention it. Remember this guy? Arrested for posting video that allegedly caused #benghazi attack. That’s as ruthless as it gets. twitter.com/Ktcarang/statu… — silenttoolong (@Ktcarang) May 6, 2013 Amb.
'Innocence of Muslims' Is Driving an Increase in Government Takedown Requests at Google

Source: motherboard.vice.com --- Saturday, April 27, 2013
<img src="http://assets2.motherboard.tv/content-images/article/the-innocence-of-muslims-led-to-a-spike-in-government-takedown-requests-at-google/4b43740994a72d0b569f316904ded6e7_vice_630x420.jpg" & width="150" & height="100" style="margin: 5pt 10px 0px 0px; float: left;" border="1" align="left" alt="" />It's that time of year again, boys and ghouls. It's time for Google's semi-annual data dump , revealing some clues about how various governments around the world try to get content yanked off the Internet. The so-called Transparency report provides somewhat granular information about government takedown requests of all kinds. To be sure, some of these takedown requests — which are up by a record amount yet again — are probably dodgy. A lot of them have to do with local laws, though, while others fall into a larger narrative, like those connected to the Innocence of Muslims video. Apparently, Google is still dealing with the fallout from that mess, but I'll get back to that in a second. Let's get specific. Or rather, let's let the official Google public policy blog get specific . "From July to December 2012, we received 2,285 government requests to remove 24,179 pieces of content—an increase from the 1,811 requests to remove 18,070 pieces of content that we received during the first half of 2012," reads the post about the latest transparency report. Then comes saucy part: "As we’ve gathered and released more data over time, it’s become increasingly clear that the scope of government attempts to censor content on Google services has grown." Time to break out the tin foil hats? Not quite. There are a lot of different reasons for the spike in takedown requests. Google identifies Brazil for having submitted the most takedown request ...
