If you’re looking for alternatives, Lenovo has finally launched its IdeaPhone K900 smart phone in Malaysia with the price tag of RM1,699. The sleek looking device boasts a super slim profile of just 6.9mm and comes in a premium unibody design made of stainless steel and polycarbonate. The IdeaPhone K900 runs on a dual-core Intel Atom Z2580 processor clocked at 2GHz that’s mated with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage. At the front, the K900 comes with a 5.5″ IPS display that does a Full HD resolution of 1920×1080 and it is further toughen with Gorilla Glass 2. Over at the back, surprisingly it comes with a Sony 13MP shooter with Exmor BSI sensor that’s found on the current Xperia Z . To take photography up a notch, the camera comes with a f/1.8 focal length, which is one of the widest in smart phones at the moment. It would be interesting to see how Lenovo’s camera performance fares against Sony’s very own Xperia Z under low light situations. For video calls, there’s also a front facing 2MP shooter. Juicing up the device is a generous 2,500mAh battery and it runs on recent Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. Do you know what’s my greatest weakness when it comes to shopping? Nope, not bags, not shoes, not even clothes. Smartphones and laptops are my greatest weakness. I have to fight the urge to buy new phones just because I want to experience the latest technology in mobile platform. I do love every phone I have, there’s no such thing as “ex-phone” for me since I have attachment issues to each of them dearly haha. However, I can never resist the temptation to change my phone every 6 months, while laptop is way more expensive to keep up (thank God!) , I still try to replace it every year *waving to my 3 laptops at home*. I know, the story of my life. :p This year, I am eyeing Lenovo IdeaPhone K900 series. Actually, this isn’t the first time I had my eyes glued on IdeaPhone. When Lenovo launched their K860 a while ago, I tried and tested it with my own hands and fell in love instantly. Look at my picture, I was all smiles when I held it in my hand! But, then I heard rumours about the upcoming K900 which would be launched very soon, I just had to stop myself from drooling over the K860 and waited instead, and when it finally came out, it WILL worth the wait, baby! Lenovo unveiled the IdeaPhone K900 way back at CES 2013 in January and it was said to be the first Intel “Clover Trail” powered smartphone on the market. The device is now ready to be sold to consumers and will be available from May the 6th. Lenovo’s IdeaPhone K900 is powered by a dual core 2GHz Atom Z2580 Intel Clover Trail processor, a PowerVR SGX544 GPU and 2GB of RAM. The 5.5 inch 1080p display sports a whopping 440+ PPI and is basically on par with all the latest flagship 1080p smartphones such as the Samsung Galaxy S4, HTC One, Sony Xperia Z and LG Optimus G Pro. The operating system of choice is Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. The Lenovo IdeaPhone K900 supports wireless display technology allowing it to stream content directly to a TV wirelessly. Super fast charging mode also enables the smartphone to charge fully in around 90 minutes. The camera on the Lenovo K900 is 13 megapixels with a Sony Exmor RS lens, which is the same camera as featured on the Sony Xperia Z. This means you should get really excellent camera quality. Lenovo’s 6.9mm thick flagship Intel smartphone is still awaiting an official price but this will be revealed on Monday May the 6th when the product is launched in China.
