The newcomer has already been set ambitious targets for the 2011 season. The new Peugeot 908 has been designed to comply with the latest endurance racing regulations and will play a major part in the Brands 2011 environmental strategy. Indeed, the combination of driving excitement with environmentally-respectful performance of the very highest level is ingrained into the heart of the Peugeot brand identity. This commitment will now also be championed by the HYbrid4 technology which combines diesel and electric power, two areas in which the Brand has forged a solid reputation for excellence. Peugeot 908 HYbrid4 Technology Since the unveiling of the team’s first demonstration hybrid car at Silverstone, in 2008, Peugeot Sport has continued to work on this technology in extremely close collaboration with the Group’s engineers. The system employed by the Peugeot 908 HYbrid4 recovers and stores the kinetic energy generated under braking, before feeding it back into the driveline during acceleration. Sbarro R act’ E.V. PSA engine with two electric motors Sbarro will showcase next week in Geneva the Réact’ E.V. concept developed by ESPERA Sbarro students. At last year’s Geneva Show they brought the Delphi Sbarro F1for3 concept and now they are back with the Réact’ E.V. which makes use of a PSA-developed V6 engine producing 210 hp (156 kW). This works together with two 134 hp (100 kW) electric motors and a 24 kWh battery. The combustion engine powers the rear wheels while the electric motors drive the front ones. The concept has a five-speed manual transmission and will participate in late March at the Monte Carlo New Energy Rally. Porsche 911 (991) GT2 will debut at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show

As expected, Porsche will introduce a improved version of the 911 (911) Turbo known as the GT2 at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show. What we do know, according to Autocar, is that the 2014 Porsche 911 (991) GT2 will be powered by a twin-turbocharged 3.8-liter flat-six engine capable to deliver 552 bhp, which translates into a top speed of more than 200 mph (320 km/h) and a sprint from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 3.0 seconds. The 991 GT2 will use a dual-clutch automatic gearbox, which will transfer the power to the rear wheels. Other features will include the four-wheel steer system, introduced on the 991 Turbo and Turbo S. For those who want even more, an RS version of the GT2 is also expected in 2015. ...

London, 20 March 2013 - Analysis released today by Kantar Media's automotive evaluation team reveals that Ferrari's LaFerrari hypercar, the marque's first ever production hybrid, was the most discussed model overall at the Geneva Motor Show 2013. It appeared in a Show-best 4.3% of all consumer-generated social media chatter, ahead of its nearest rival, the McLaren P1, which ranked second with 3.8%. Volkswagen was the most mentioned car manufacturer in the run up to the event. The announcement on the eve of the Show that the seventh generation of the Golf had been named European Car of the Year - the only model apart from the Renault Clio to receive the award twice - helped Volkswagen to achieve references in 7.1% of online news stories and blogs, ahead of Audi in second place with 5.1%. Other key research findings include: In a Show that marked the return of the hypercar, Lamborghini's Veneno was a hit with social media posters, despite its production run being limited to three units. Curtis Hutchinson As the year’s first major European Motor Show Geneva plays an important role in setting the scene for what’s imminently heading for showrooms. Last month’s Show was busy and vibrant, even though it was set against a backdrop of haemorrhaging new car markets across the continent; a trend the UK is thankfully bucking. The talk of the Show tended to gravitate towards top-end exotica and whether the McLaren P1 is now the most desirable supercar in the world. It’s certainly exclusive with an £866,000 price tag and a 375 unit production run, although Ferrari’s lazily named LaFerrari (pictured), limited to 499 units and boasting F1 KERS technology, probably proved to be more of a head-turner. Meanwhile, in a curious juxtaposition in the luxury sector Rolls Royce showed the Wraith, a coupe version of its Ghost; while Bentley unveiled its Flying Spur, the restyled limousine version of its Continental coupe. Back in the real world the Show presented a wealth of international and European debuts with marques using it as an opportunity to unveil replacement models: notably Skoda’s all-new bigger Octavia; their latest brand extensions, BMW’s stylish 3-series Gran Touring; and hint at future directions, Mitsubishi’s GR HEV hybrid pickup perhaps setting the scene for the next L200.
