Marvel's GUARDIANS of the Galaxy will go into production soon, and a rumour has surfaced regarding the identity of the villain. JoBlo reports that the chief foe of the team will be the alien Kree warrior known as Ronan the Accuser. Lee Pace is set to take on the role of a villain in the James Gunn directed film, however rumours circulated that he was playing the superpowered being The Collector. A rumor has surfaced and it is regarding the identity of the villain from next year's epic adventure from Marvel. Do YOU know who this baddie by the name of Ronan The Accuser is? Korvac. Magus. Thanos. Collector. What do these four names have in common? Well, if you knew that then you would be Kevin Feige, right?! Many have speculated and/or rumored who would be the main bad guy in Marvel's upcoming GUARDIANS Of The Galaxy . However, if this latest rumor has any truth to it we had no idea at all what we are in store for. JoBlo reports that Ronan the Accuser, a member of the alien race the Kree, shall be the main antagonist in the movie. Created by legends Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, Ronan exists in Marvel's main shared universe and has since, over time, slowly become more noble and heroic. Not true in the upcoming action-thriller adventure though, as Lee Pace is already confirmed to be playing the villain. Could the villain of Marvel's big space opera be the ruler of one of its most famous alien races? Could a Man of Steel prequel comic set the stage for one of Superman's closest allies? GUARDIANS of the Galaxy It's been heavily rumored (but I don't believe confirmed yet) that Pushing Daisies star Lee Pace will play the main, presumably non-Thanos villain in this movie, but there's been no clear sense of which villain that would be. The latest rumor claims Ronan the Accuser will be that villain. Ronan was originally a Fantastic Four villain — which might actually create some rights issues with 20th Century Fox, although he's a minor enough character that Marvel Studios could likely get hold of him if they really wanted to — and is of mostly of note for being the rule of the Kree, which might in turn set up the Kree-Skrull war that everyone seemed to think was going to happen in The Avengers . In other words, this is probably just the prelude to a whole new round of Kree-Skrull rumors for The Avengers 2 . In the meantime, I'd advise treating this rumor with the deepest skepticism, and not just because we're still pretty dubious that either the Kree or the Skrulls are going to show up in a Marvel movie anytime soon. The latest batch comes courtesy of JoBlo , who might have found out who the villain in " GUARDIANS of the Galaxy " is and answered a common question about Paul Giamatti 's role in " The Amazing Spider-Man 2 ." As the folks over at JoBlo are quick to say, neither of these two scoops are confirmed by the people at Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures. Still, they do open up glimpses at what the folks behind the two projects could be planning. If you're looking to be spoiled, check out the news after the jump. Ready? Are you sure? Okay. First up, JoBlo's source claims that the central villain in "GUARDIANS of the Galaxy" will be Ronan the Accuser, the ruler of the Kree race of aliens. The site speculates that this could potentially lead up to an adaptation of the famous 'Kree-Skrull War' storyline in " The Avengers 2 ." It's unclear if the villain role that Lee Pace was cast for will be that of the Accuser, but the source says "if he's playing the lead, then he's playing Ronan." Meanwhile the source also says that fans will get to see Paul Giamatti's Aleksei Sytsevich transform into the Rhino during "The Amazing Spider-Man 2." "How the costume will look is still up in the air, but there will be some variation of a metamorphasised Sytsevich at some point during the film," the site writes.
