Infant Elephant, Stay at Home Dads, Thomas Fitzpatrick, Jennifer Sullivan Spike Hill 05/27/2013 07:00 PM EDT Jennifer Sullivan Jennifer Sullivan (Born Aug 20 1987, TX) is an American musician, composer, & singer-songwriter. Main instruments are mandolin, guitar, & piano. Her music has an indie pop/rock sensibility drawn from western music influences, particularly the jazz, blues, & country/folk music genres. Since moving to New York City from Austin, TX in 2010, Jennifer has been producing a debut full-length album & performing live as a band. She was granted free studio time as a select recording artist for Converse exclusively at Rubber Tracks in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. The album's first single, Black Cat, (Released 1.13.13 - now available) recently debuted on NPR-affiliate radio station KUT. The LP (Coming Spring 2013) features all-original poetry, songs, horn & string arrangments, as well as eclectic instrumentation including melodica, organ, baritone sax, banjo, bassoon, flute, and accordion. She previously released one EP, Extended Play (2010), which one critic described as "...an indie-jazz infusion cemented with a voice that's reminiscent of the greats of the last millunium" (Peter Harris, IndieSounds). Jennifer states Patsy Cline and Billie Holiday as her greatest influences; God as her muse. Dear Cora Most of my life I’ve suffered from a form of depression stemming from a profound existential disappointment with life, the world, and especially with humanity which makes it nearly impossible to participate in the every day world of work that most people take for granted without getting even more down and depressed. With a daughter who I want to be able to support and do fun things with (ex. Disney World), I really need to get over this problem so I can handle working full-time – even if at a job I don’t like so I can have money for every day needs and save money for the fun stuff. I wish I could get real help with this but have little hope that any other person can really help. I’ve been disappointed too many times, every time I’ve given myself a chance to hope. But I still do foolishly feel hope that I’ll find something that will get me past this depression. I just don’t know what will work. The more I learn and study, the more doubtful I become that anything will. Bozie will be kept in quarantine for around a month before joining the rest of the National Zoo's herd: females Ambika (65) and Shanthi (38), and male Kandula (11). They say an Elephant never forgets, so one of 37-year-old Bozie's new cohorts should be familiar: According to the zoo , Bozie and Shanthi were young calves together at Sri Lanka's Elephant Orphanage Department of Wildlife Conservation before being transported to the United States. First, the class of 2013 celebrated achieving over 51% participation in their senior class gift campaign , which means trustee Nelson Carbonell, SEAS BS ’85 , would donate $51,000 to student aid. That was worth a toast: Then, we welcomed the class of 2013 into the GW Alumni Association in style at Nick’s Riverside Grill at their Zero Year Reunion.
