With director Patrick Hughes confirmed to be at the helm of The EXPENDABLES 3 , the biggest concern is rounding up all the bad asses to make up the ensemble of action stars kicking ass this time around. Wesley Snipes has been pegged for a role , and recently Stallone further confirmed the involvement of Jackie Chan and return of Mickey Rourke . Now it sounds like another new face might enter the mix. Stallone took to Twitter for another revelation and merely said, "Just talked to Steven S. in Moscow. Jackie Chan has indicated that he will star in The EXPENDABLES 3 if he can make his schedule work. In an interview with Getty Images Entertainment at the Cannes Film Festival, the martial arts legend confirmed that Sylvester Stallone’s tweets about his possible involvement in the threequel are not far off the mark. I would love to work with Stallone. I’m going to meet him and see what happens. I am supposed to be in The EXPENDABLES 3 but at the time I am meant to be doing Chinese Zodiac. I cannot promise you anything but let’s see what happens. I would love to do it. I love Stallone. When asked about the on-off action sequel Rush Hour 4, Jackie said that rather than reuniting with Chris Tucker to revive the franchise, they are looking at starting a whole new one. He explained, I think maybe not a Rush Hour 4. I think that maybe Chris Tucker and I will start another movie. If the people still want Rush Hour 4 then okay we’ll do Rush Hour 4, but I think Chris and me start another series of films. The actor and director is currently jumping catlike from animation voiceovers to Hollywood blockbusters while still finding time to bring historical epics, such as 1911, to the big screen. In the midst of the Cannes Film Festival, Jackie Chan has been doing one or two interviews, and he's been chatting to Getty Images Entertainment. Talk turned to a pair of sequels he's been linked with, and it turns out that all the talk about The EXPENDABLES 3 has something to it, but that Rush Hour 4 is looking a longer shot. Dealing with the latter first, Chan told Getty that "I think maybe not a Rush Hour 4 . I think that maybe Chris Tucker and I will start another movie". He did add that "If the people still want Rush Hour 4 then okay, we'll do Rush Hour 4 , but I think Chris and me start another series of films". Truthfully, we could have lived without Rush Hour 2 and 3, but then we suspect may not be in the majority. Looking more positive is his involvement in The EXPENDABLES 3 . Chan admitted that "I would love to work with Stallone. I'm going to meet him and see what happens". But it's not a given that he'll be in the film. With thirty years working in film and a number of highly successful martial arts movies under his belt Donnie Yen has been at various times an actor, director, producer, action choreographer and even medal winning martial artist. Yen was in Cannes to promote his upcoming film Iceman Cometh 3D and I was lucky enough to speak to him about the film, action filmmaking and much more. On the Iceman Cometh. It’s obviously quite straightforward. It’s basically a story about this Ming Dynasty warrior travelling years later to modern Hong Kong. It’s a very straightforward, entertaining action film. Of course, with romance and a sense of humour. A black sense of humour. So hopefully this film can bring a lot of joy and entertainment to audiences. On 3D and the challenges faced in shooting in 3D. It’s my second 3D movie. I’ve done a movie called Monkey King which is about to come out the end of the year. That’s actually my first 3D movie. It’s very difficult to adapt, especially with action. I’ve been doing action films for so long. There’s a certain sophistication in bringing the best action onto screen but with certain requirements of 3D, equipment and cameras, certain logistics, elements… there’s a real give and take. Sylvester Stallone n’en finit plus de tweeter sur le film. Plutôt du genre généreux, Sylvester Stallone ne se prive pas de mettre la main au tweet lorsqu’il s’agit de relayer les dernières infos concernant ses divers projets. Surtout sur EXPENDABLES 3 pour lequel il ne cesse d’interagir avec ses fans, en leur demandant notamment ce qu’ils penseraient si Mel Gibson réalisait le film ou en les informant de l’arrivée de Wesley Snipes au casting . Mais c’est loin d’être tout car à en croire les dires de l’acteur, le film réalisé par Patrick Hughes bénéficierait du retour de Mickey Rourke comme le laisse supposer le dernier statut en date : « Le puissant Mickey est de retour » . On se souvient que l’absence de la star de THE WRESTLER dans EXPENDABLES 2 avait nourri bien des rumeurs durant sa production. De son côté, le comédien disait avoir payé sa dette envers Stallone en apparaissant dans le premier opus. Certains y voyaient là une excuse cachant une brouille entre les deux comédiens. Peu importe, leur collaboration reprendra de plus belle cet été. On s’en réjouit d’avance.
