Source: hfboards.hockeysfuture.com --- Saturday, May 18, 2013
Come on guy... Laid off Big Country. Before he decided to actually become his namesake... And injuries... He is one of the more effective offensive centers in the league. Back then there were many great ones... Hakeem, David Robinson, Mutumbo, Shaq... Who were all in their prime... And Reeves gets overshadowed. Plus... If you look at the draft... Who would you rather draft at 6? The only players who is better is Michael Finley... And possibly Theo Ratliff... And they was drafted 21st and 18th respectively. The biggest issue with the Grizzlies was management. The upper management did not draft well... Gave out bad contracts... Made very, very poor trades... Especially the one for Otis Thorpe... Who only spent half a season here... And it cost them the 2nd overall pick in the 2003 draft... Which was One of the strongest draft class in history... :shakehead And hired mainly bad coaches. Even if they hired a semi-good one... There was no support staff for him. I have to say... Some players really hated in here though. Francis was the most notable one... But there was also Anthony Peeler... And Blue Edwards. The latter two could do more with losing than the city though. I don't know if the NBA could work here anymore. Many Asian people I know were heartbroken by the loss of Grizzilies... And they never really came back. Still... If there is a winning product very soon... I am pretty sure it will attract people. People like winners. ...

Emperor Iwakuma and Reichs Chancellor David Stern

Source: ballsandstrikes.mlblogs.com --- Thursday, May 16, 2013
<img src="http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/4/49/David_Stern.jpg/300px-David_Stern.jpg" & width="150" & height="210" style="margin: 5pt 10px 0px 0px; float: left;" border="1" align="left" alt="" />King Felix is the Mariners first ace, he with the Cy Young , the perfect game, Felix’s Court out in left field, and his love for the city of Seattle . But the Mariners have a second ace and one not up their sleeves, but out in the open for all to see. At the rate these two are pitching it would be a major crime akin to David Stern killing the Sonics for them not to make the all-star team. English: David Stern, commissioner of the National Basketball Association (Photo credit: Wikipedia) Emperor Iwakuma’s numbers are a royal flush. In nine starts he is 5-1 with a 1.84 earned run average. In 59 innings the opposition is batting .183 against him and he has struck out 55, walking only 8. While some still doubt his ability, the game he is dealing is not one where the jokers are wild. Mariner fans remember his 2012 start when he was in the bullpen, used as often as David Stern uses Dale Carnegie’s book, “ How to Win Friends and Influence People .” By the all-star game he was 1-1 with an earned run average of 4.84 with one start on July 2nd. But after the all-star break he was 8-4 with a 2.50 ERA . Since he joined the rotation July 15 of 2012 he has started 24 games with a 13-5 record and a 2.23 ERA. His performance since then puts him in the ace category. A good record, even better when you consider he has pitched for a team that scored runs last year as often as David Stern fly’s to Seattle for a cup of Starbuck’s mocha java. (Glenn James/Getty Images) The fate of the Kings, who will remain in Sacramento after NBA commissioner David Stern announced Wednesday that a relocation bid to Seattle was voted down by the league’s Board of Governors , was always going to be a zero-sum game. Two cities, one team, and no immediate possibility of expansion combined to create an endgame that guaranteed a winning city and a losing city, no matter what. “I don’t see any scenario in which both cities are happy here,” Stern admitted at All-Star Weekend back in February , immediately upping the anxiety on both sides with the declaration. There’s a difference between being unhappy, and being heartbroken, and being outraged. Stern’s comments at the Board of Governors meeting in Dallas left folks in Seattle feeling all three of those emotions, and it’s difficult to blame them. The outrage — the feeling of being personally and viciously insulted — began as soon as Stern opened his mouth, before he even confirmed reports that the Kings would not be headed to Seattle thanks to a 22-8 vote by the league’s owners. “This is going to be short for me,” Stern began. “I have a game to get to in Oklahoma City.” For much of the country, the reference to Wednesday’s Game 5 between the Thunder and Grizzlies in Chesapeake Energy Arena might sound like an innocuous toss-away, the type of thing a re ...
