Source: www.huffingtonpost.com --- Friday, May 10, 2013
The man who has been most vocal about his claim to the Christopher Dorner reward has been awarded absolutely none of it, and on Friday a judge blocked his attempt to prevent other recipients from receiving their cut of the money. Through his lawyer, camp ranger Richard Heltebrake expressed disappointment in authorities' decision to completely cut him out of the $1 million reward, despite the fact that Heltebrake was one of the last people to see Dorner alive. "I think lost in this whole process is that Mr. Heltebrake was the victim of a violent crime with Mr. Dorner pointing a rifle at him, and is basically getting the shaft by the city," said attorney Allen Thomas to NBC Los Angeles in the video above. A panel of three judges announced Wednesday that they were giving the bulk of the reward, $800,000, to James and Karen Reynolds, whom Dorner tied up in a cabin. Judges also gave $150,000 to Daniel McGowan, who found Dorner's burning pickup truck in Big Bear, and $50,000 to R.L. McDaniel, who saw Dorner at a gas station during the manhunt, reports the Associated Press. Heltebrake was driving on Route 38 in Big Bear, Calif. Feb. 12 when he came across Dorner standing in the middle of the road. Dorner pointed a gun at Heltebrake and ordered him to get out of the car and walk away. But that apparently wasn't enough to merit a cut of the reward, as police were already on Dorner's trial by the time Heltebrake was able to report the carj ...

Source: bossip.com --- Monday, April 29, 2013
<img src="http://bossip.files.wordpress.com/2013/04/richard-copy.jpg?w=594&h=434" & width="150" & height="110" style="margin: 5pt 10px 0px 0px; float: left;" border="1" align="left" alt="" />Time to give up some of those stacks Los Angeles . Man Carjacked By Christopher Dorner Sues City Of L.A. According to TMZ The man who was carjacked by cop killer Christopher Dorner hours before he was cornered in a cabin … is suing the city of L.A. for the $1 million reward it offered to the public, but then pulled back over a loophole … TMZ has learned. In the lawsuit, filed today in LA, Richard Heltebrake describes how Dorner pulled a gun on him on Feb. 12, took his truck and then used it during a shootout with law enforcement. Dorner eventually ditched the truck before fleeing to the cabin where he died. Heltebrake says once he was free he used his cell phone to call the San Bernardino Co. Sheriff to report the carjacking and Dorner’s location. Heltebrake believes he’s owed, and indeed filed for, a ton of reward money that was offered — $1 million from the city of L.A., $100k from Riverside County, and $100k each from the cities of Riverside and Irvine. Three of those rewards were for “information leading to the apprehension and capture” of Dorner. Another was for “identification and apprehension.” The language is important because Dorner was not apprehend or captured — but instead police say he died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound inside the burning cabin. As TMZ first reported, L.A. officials were hesitant to pay up — and in the suit, Heltebrake claims all the municipalities denied him any money. Heltebrake wants at least ...

The Los Angeles City Council must still ratify the agreement, announced Tuesday by Los Angeles City Atty. Carmen Trutanich and Glen Jonas, who is representing the women. Margie Carranza, 47, and her mother, Emma Hernandez, 71, were delivering newspapers in Torrance on Feb. 7 when LAPD officers shot repeatedly at their blue Toyota Tacoma. Hernandez was shot twice in the back, and Carranza's hands were injured by either broken glass or shrapnel, Jonas said. Read full article... ...

The thoroughly dead fired-cop cop-killer is still making news. Three items came to our attention, and we happened to read them in a paper from way the hell across the country from the scenes of his crimes, to wit: the New York Daily News: Item: a gun he pawned in Las Vegas for $50, pre-notoriety, has been auctioned for $4,000 . ($4,025, to be pedantic). The gun was a cheesy Astra .38 revolver, and the pawnbroker was optimistic to give him $50 for such a second-string-brand, out-of-fashion-caliber gun. But his optimism is rewarded on Gunbroker . Was the buyer one of those guys who bids on, say, Bonnie and Clyde guns? Or one of Dorner’s ate-up fans? Yeah, that possibility is sick, but not as sick as Dornermania gets. Shop’s copy of Dorner’s receipt. Anyway, the seller offered to give the money to the family members of two cops killed by the angry ex-cop, but the families angrily refused, and one of the police departments excoriated the seller as “ghoulish.” Jeez, no good deed goes unpunished in this world. What was a pawnbroker — last time I checked, not someone bound by a particularly rigid code of ethics — supposed to do with a gun that turned out to be owned by a celebrity, even an evil one? Exercise for the reader: someone finds out his grandfather left him a GI bringback that turns out to be documented personal property of a top Nazi, say Göring. What’s he supposed ...

The Chris Dorner Saga: Individual Liberty and Justice?

Source: stanfordreview.org --- Thursday, February 14, 2013
I know that Chris Dorner is not officially deceased, but I am going to write this article assuming he is, considering the man who died in the fire/shootout at Big Bear Lake recently matched his physical description and Chris Dorner’s wallet with his driver’s license was later found in the fire rubble. First, perhaps I have just caught a few rogue opinions, but it seems to me that more people than expected are upset about the way in which the San Bernardino Police Department killed Dorner. There is still conflict as to how the fire started. Some suggest that the heat emitted from the tear gas caused the cabin to go up in flames, while some recordings of the officers at the scene suggest that the burn was intentional. Even if the burn was 100% intentional, I have no problem with this. Dorner was a deluded killer, bent on murdering more innocent people in light of his twisted and perverse ideas of “justice”. I feel that the actions by the police to burn Dorner alive do not conflict with the conservative/libertarian ideas of justice and individual rights. I feel that these actions are justifiable under Nozick’s “Night-Watchman state”. Dorner was a serious threat to the well-being of other individuals of society. The moment that Dorner declares war on innocent citizens and then kills innocent people, he then becomes an immediate threat to society, thus being a legitimate target for the government to “coerce” in a manner to protect its ...

One thing is for sure they could have kept it departmental issue but did not have to fire Mr. Dorner, which indicates hatred in the LAPD and a retaliation move against Mr. Dorner. It may have even suggested a dislike and jealousy against his military accomplished back ground. Wrecking somebody’s good name like, Mr. Dorner or anyone in the work-force is so damaging the individual maybe in and out jobs in the future for decades or just not able to get a job to provide for his family. That is a corporate and union evil that out ways any act of terrorism in America. The corporations and the unions can wreck someone’s good name too easy these days and will because of their “evil karma” that they inherited. It’s enough to drive any person to their braking point. Then once a corporation or union accomplishes this hennas act on someone, they like to blame the fallout on the individual that they marked and destroyed. And with high technology leading the way for corporations and unions, it’s making them more skinless than ever when it comes to hiring and firing. They can Goggle and discriminate against you, to see if you have a Facebook account or something on the internet to create an instant hate profile on you right away. It would be nice to see if the president could start a federal investigation against the LAPD a ...
