After Augusta State endured the worst season in Peach Belt Conference history, the school relieved fourth-year baseball coach Chris Cooper of his duties Wednesday. Augusta State baseball coach Chris Cooper has been reassigned, athletic director Clint Bryant announced Wednesday afternoon. Cooper took over the program in July 2009 and guided the Jaguars to a 64-126 overall record from 2010-2013. Augusta State lost 21 games in a row to end the season this year. Cooper will assume the newly-created position of head strength and conditioning coach for the entire Jaguar Athletics program, according to a news release.
