Arizona Cardinals Head Coach Bruce Arians Impressed With Carson Palmer So Far

Source: www.rantsports.com --- Sunday, May 19, 2013
<img src="http://www.rantsports.com/nfl/files/2013/05/Carson-Palmer.jpg" & width="150" & height="84" style="margin: 5pt 10px 0px 0px; float: left;" border="1" align="left" alt="" />(Matt Kartozian/USA Today Sports) The Arizona Cardinals knew addressing the quarterback position was their top priority this offseason as it was nothing but a disaster during the 2012 season and there’s no question they made the right move by parting ways with Kevin Kolb . However, only time will tell when it comes to whether or not acquiring Carson Palmer was the right move, but if you ask Bruce Arians –he loves what he sees in his quarterback so far. Arians recently discussed in an interview how much he praised Palmer for the way he’s looked so far with the Cardinals this offseason. If there’s anything to take away from the 2012 season from Palmer’s perspective, it would be last year with the Oakland Raiders did not go the way he was hoping it would as his numbers may have looked impressive on paper, but most of them came during garbage time when the team was trailing in the second half. Now, Palmer receives the opportunity to play alongside one of the best wide receivers in football in Larry Fitzgerald . Palmer claims he still has what it takes to be an effective quarterback at the pro level and with Fitzgerald–there’s really no excuse for him not to perform well in 2013. As much as he doesn’t want to hear it, this season could be Palmer’s final chance to prove himself as a starter considering there aren’t many teams that would be willing to give him a shot–so let’s hope what Arians is saying so far turns out to be true next y ...

Arizona Cardinals: Bruce Arians Praises Carson Palmer

Mandatory Credit: Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports Carson Palmer is 33 years old, but he’s still a good quarterback. Just ask head coach Bruce Arians. According to NFL.com, Arians praised Palmer and his deep-ball skills. Arians said, “I think the biggest thing is just his experience level. He’s tough as nails. As good a deep-ball thrower as I’ve ever seen. I mean, really accurate on the deep ball. He still has it. What he did last year with the Raiders , in a crazy situation, I thought was very, very impressive.” Palmer has deep threats in Larry Fitzgerald, Ryan Swope and Andre Roberts, which he didn’t have in 2012 with the Oakland Raiders. Despite a depleted receiving corps, Palmer managed to post the 16th-best passer rating in the league. Palmer and Fitzgerald are now in Arizona together, and things are going very well with the two and the team. Swope and Roberts will be able to get open with their speed, and Fitzgerald can bail Palmer out for taking chances. Palmer was intercepted 14 times in 2012, but with a great receiver in Fitzgerald, Palmer’s touchdown total should skyrocket (from 22 in 2012), and his interceptions should decrease. Chemistry hasn’t been a problem for Palmer and the revamped Cardinals, an ...

All of his off-the-field problems have been well documented. There is also a lot to be found about his potential and how much impact he could be on the field despite being undersized and perhaps a step slow for his size. That is what caught the eyes of Arizona general manager Steve Keim. He was quoted in a recent NFL.com story by Albert Breer saying that the potential for his impact on the field far outweighs the possibility for a return to the problems he has had. "I don't know if I'd go out on a limb and say he could become the best corner in the draft," Keim said. "What I would go out on a limb and say is, he could be the best playmaker in the draft. He just has such unique skill, with instincts and getting his hands on the ball. He's so opportunistic on the field." Clearly the team doesn't think he will be the best corner. They are having him play safety. But that is already known. Something else that was said in the article is something that has not been talked about much. Yes, the Arizona Cardinals with Patrick Peterson and Larry Fitzgerald are a good fit, but the head coach seems to be just the guy to work with him. He has worked with guys with troubles, namely Ben Roethlisberger and Santonio Holmes . Said one AFC coach, "Anyone who's dealt with Ben knows he can be aloof, he's different, but Bruce had an unb ...

Source: www.revengeofthebirds.com --- Wednesday, May 01, 2013
I see the Cards taking their place among those teams challenging for the NFC West crown. At last we have installed a true player’s coach at the helm with Bruce Arians. In my opinion, it is the Head Coach that ultimately determines the success or lack of success of a football team, at every level of play, from Pee-Wee to the NFL. Coach Arians is "My Guy" and I jumped on the Cardinals’ Bandwagon with his hire. I am so very pleased to see the way the Cardinals faithful have embraced the new skipper. Even the most skeptical Red Bird fan feels the excitement that BA has infused into the franchise, from the day he was hired, and it just keeps growing and getting stronger, along with the roster. I love the way Arians embraced Keim and together they went right to work on Free Agency with a "Board" and pulled in a top notch QB and reliable backups. The Cue Ball Bros. engineered an excellent Draft that addressed most all the weaknesses that needed to be eliminated by drafting BPA for the Cardinals, not the Sports Writers. Now they are still bringing in more FAs and UDFA’s bodies for a look-see during camp. From all the reports I’ve read so far, the players are also pumped and excited about their new playbook and coaching staff. I have been laying back and monitoring the ROTB site and watching the positive energy grow to capture most all the postings from the Cardinals fans. It is time for me to make my incredibly early W/L prediction for t ...
