I’ll admit that until the tragic death of Chris Kyle in February of this year, I had never heard of him. So I had no idea he was the most lethal Sniper ever in the history of the American Military. I was also amazed by the wide range of reactions to his death. It was in the midst of the news coverage about his death I learned that he had written a book. When I heard that I decided I wanted to read American Sniper to learn his story and luckily my brother owned it. borrowed from www.mrconservative.com Regardless of your opinion about war, I believe that those men and women who put on a uniform and risk their lives to protect the freedoms and lives of the American people deserve a great deal of respect. Their job is not politically based and they are not the people who make the call to go to war. The decision for war is ultimately made by politicians and once that decision is made the men and women in our Armed Forces are following orders and doing their job. I was amazed by the reactions of people who don’t believe Chris Kyle is an American Hero. As far as I am concerned the day he joined the Navy he became a hero. As I began reading American Sniper I found myself not being able to put it down. The fact that I knew someone one at least one of the missions he provided cover for made it hit home. Last week, we traveled to Las Vegas to sit down with the Wolfpack to talk " The Hangover " for one last time before the trilogy ends next week. We'll have more about that movie closer to the release date, but we took some time out of our interview to ask a few questions about Bradley Cooper's and Ed Helms' upcoming projects. A few weeks ago, Steven Spielberg signed on to direct Cooper in an adaptation of "American Sniper," the tragic true story of Chris Kyle, whose memoir the actor's production company optioned. Cooper shared his reaction to attracting such a legendary director. "I mean, it's insane. It's a book I read and one my production company optioned," Cooper said. "This guy, Jason Dean Hall, wrote a version of the script. [Spielberg] read it last week or two weeks ago." The news unfortunately caught Zach Galifianakis by surprise. "Wait, wait, wait. You're doing a Steven Spielberg movie?" he asked before storming off. Once the room had cooled down, Helms offered a quick update on his delayed "Vacation" reboot. "Yeah, we're waiting. Steven Spielberg has selected his next project post- Lincoln , and it's not the previously announced and subsequently delayed Robopocalypse ; instead, Spielberg will turn his attention to another biopic, with The Hollywood Reporter revealing that the legendary filmmaker is to direct Bradley Cooper ( Silver Linings Playbook , The Hangover Part III ) in American Sniper . Steven Spielberg was planning to make Robopocalypse his next directorial effort, but he decided the script needed more work so he put it on the back burner. That left him with out a new project, until today. Deadline is reporting that Spielberg has decided to make America Sniper his next film. Bradley Cooper is already attached to star as Chris Kyle. He’s now found something else to make in the meantime, locking in to direct American Sniper with Bradley Cooper in the lead . Cooper has been pushing this one for more than a year, locking down the rights to former Navy SEAL Chris Kyle’s book as the first potential project for his production company. Kyle’s book, which bears the subtitle The Autobiography Of The Most Lethal Sniper In US Military History, finds the Texas-born shooter notching the highest recorded number of kills for an American. But his dedication to his sights and his SEAL mates has an impact on his relationship with his wife. The Hollywood Reporter has learned the next film from Steven Spielberg will be about Chris Kyle, the deadliest Sniper the U.S. military has ever had. The film, titled "American Sniper," will be based on Kyle's memoir of the same name, which chronicles his 10-year career as a Navy SEAL Sniper. With service in every major battle of the Iraq war and 225 confirmed kills, Kyle was so effective the enemy called him "The Devil Of Ramadi" and offered an $80,000 bounty on his head. Actor Bradley Cooper of "The Hangover" fame will star as Kyle in the Warner Bros. production, slated for release in early 2014. Some of Kyle's exploits were chronicled at Business Insider after his book was released, as Robert Johnson wrote at the time: His first kill was a woman about to throw a hand-grenade at a group of Marines. His most distant kill was from 2,100 yards away outside Sadr City in 2008. It was there he saw a man leveling a rocket launcher at an Army convoy and fired a single round from his .338 Lapua Magnum rifle with its Nightforce power scope .
