The original concept took a while to materialize , but since then the company has kept up with a surprisingly rapid product cycle. It was only five months from the first PadFone to the PadFone 2 ; and now seven months later, ASUS is offering the PadFone Infinity: a non-surprising full HD update for both the phone and the tablet module. The phone itself also benefits from a newer 1.7GHz quad-core Snapdragon 600 SoC, as well as a new brushed-aluminum body. So, d oes this upgraded package have what it takes to kill the "glass is half empty" mentality? Or would consumers still rather have two separate devices? Read on to find out. The hybrid was unveiled at MWC 2013 and it was one of the most appreciated devices, when it comes to design and power. It relies on a Snapdragon 600 processor and adopts pretty much the same idea of its predecessor: a smartphone sliding into a special slot inside a tablet. The CPU is clocked at 1.7 GHz and the benchmark results are very impressive. It scores about 12.000 points in Quadrant, while in NenaMark it reaches 61 FPS and in AnTuTu it’s at 25k points, so close to Galaxy S4 and HTC One. We also see in the review a function called ASUS Echo, a Siri and S Voice rival that looks interesting. The product is priced at $700, so more than the $575 HTC One and that’s without the PadStation, that also adds $250 in the mix. By the way you can attach the keyboard of the PadFone 2 to this slate, making the device into some sort of a laptop.
