| i am unable to install media center extender, the setup program hangs right
after execution and displays the following error message. "there is a problem
with the installation of windows xp media center edition 2005. uninstall the
update to media center edition 2005 and then re-install the update from the
windows update website. then run the media center extender setup again."
prior to this i was unable to run the windows media center rollup update 2
but found a conflict with the setup program and windows media player 11.
uninstalled wmp 11 and got the rollup update installed and ran the extender
setup on the clean rollup 2 install and still get the same error message. i
am running sp3 btw also. any help greatly appreciated thank you for your time
