iLike , a popular social music discovery service, has reached a membership of 30 million registered users. To celebrate this achievement, the site is now offering new features such as an ad platform for concert promoters and full-song playback through Rhapsody. The company also announced a music syndication initiative for third-party developers. "Since inception, iLike has always enabled other people to benefit from our reach," says Ali Partovi, CEO of iLike. "Historically, iLike has focused on serving fans, artists and labels. Today, we're pleased to expand the iLike community by empowering two new groups: concert promoters and third-party [application/website] developers. We're also delighted that the first phase of our Rhapsody relationship has been implemented within just weeks, delivering full-song playback to our users." The ad platform will allow concert promoters, book agents, venue owners, and indie bands to use social advertising tools on iLike to target music fans on many top social networks. The platform will allow people to create multi-media ads (music playback, social links), target consumers according to location and musical tastes instead of key words, and provide self-populating concert data to save time when managing campaigns in several different markets.
