Relatively new Linksys WRT54GS (7.50.5) installed at home. Wife's personal Dell lapper (Vista) and Linksys WGA54G Game Adapter both connect to to the network and run perfectly. Since she works one day a week from home she has a lapper supplied by her employer. The IBM she had connected just fine to the home network but they just replaced that with a Dell Lattitude D620 running XP Pro and I can not get this thing to connect to the network wirelessly (I can with cable connected directly to the router). The machine recognizes the SSID broadcast with excellent reception I enter the key (double and triple checked for accuracy) and no luck. I took the thing to Uno Pizza on Saturday as they have a Wi Fi hot spot and it connected just fine. When she takes it back to work and the IT people check it runs just fine on their hot spot. They had a Dell utility running the wireless card and I asked them to allow Windows to run the card thinking that might be the problem. They did change that for me and still no luck. Can't connect. I called Linksys support last night and sat on hold for 20 minutes. Finally connected to hard to understand but friendly level 1 tech support agent who got as far as having me change the router security from WPA to WEP before hanging up on me and still now luck. I had already tried removing all security before calling anyway. I am thinking this may have something to do with the antivirus software on this PC but I have limit ...
