| I hope this is the right forum for this. I'm going to traveling through eastern Canada this summer for two weeks and need to spend a fair amount of time on the phone. I use Verizon Wireless, which charges $.69/minute for roaming. If I use a thousand minutes, that is going to cost $690.00 and I would dearly like to figure a cheaper way to do it. My question is this: What is the cheapest way to handle this? I assume they sell throw away cell phones in Canada with pay as you go plans. If I purchase one and then use a long distance card, I'm hoping I can dramatically lower these costs. Is this a crazy plan? Does anyone have any other ideas? I will mainly be in Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island. ... |
