Forum Users: I am a new subscriber to AOL Canada's Broadband / DSL service. When I use AOL Canada supplied software (AOL 9.0 VR) with the AOL Canada supplied Speed Stream 4200 device I have no problems accessing the Internet. If I attempt to log in with my, recently purchased, TP-Link TL-WR340GD router connected...using PPPoE...the router's Log indicates that it connects to AOL Canada but the Username and Password is rejected ("PAP authentication failed.") The same Username and password works fine if I use AOL supplied software (AOL 9.0 VR)? If I do not connect the router and use only the AOL Supplied Speed Stream 4200 device and use MS Internet Explorer with PPPoE (instead of AOL's 9.0 VR)...the Username and Password is rejected? Even though the same Username and Password works with no problem when I use the AOL Canada supplied AOL 9.0 VR application? Has anyone had a similar experience? Is/are there known solution(s)? Any suggestions for trouble-shooting techniques that I can follow step-by-step? Questions/comments/suggestions? Please advise. Cheers+ MarkG ...
