Exactly when did young (and not so young) girls start yelling "Woo-Hoo!" at the drop of a cliche? It may be the most annoying permutation of the 1980s Valley Girl-speak which simply refused to die. As someone living in a society which no longer expects or encourages expressing oneself like an adult, here are words and phrases that should be banned immediately. "old school"..... "back in the day"........ "no you di'nt"....."AWESOME"... "big time"...."yadda, yadda, yadda"  ( Seinfeld should never be forgiven)..."nomesane"?......"like"....... "Hottie"....... "punked"... "OMG".... "embedded"  ....... "bling", and "Bling-bling" ...... and everything on the menu at Starbuck's. We must keep "Dude".... as a tribute to Jeff Bridges in The Big Lebowski . Additionally... what's with the little girl voices so prevalent in grown women who should have grown out of it in junior high? Faithful reader Ninja R describes such females as those "whose voices go up at the end of their sentences." It sounded cute when Betty Boop was popular (look it up)... but now its just annoying. Jennifer Tilly escapes sounding stoopid... but that's because she backs it up with great sex appeal.... for her, Betty Boop works. It never worked for Melanie Griffith whose best days were in the 80s. And just the other day came the obligatory story about text messaging ruining education as we know it.  Full Story. ...
