 Recently, Shanghaiist has been getting a whole load of clicks from a most unlikely source, GodHatesFags.com — official website of the loonies at the highly controversial, virulently homophobic, and dangerously extremist Westboro Baptist Church . Clicking over , we found that in addition to calling us "slant-eyed bastards" for an article we wrote about them a long time ago , the "church" has just released yet another press release (pictured here), thanking God for the "Great Killer Earthquake that He sent to kill thousands of stiffhearted Chinese rebels against God". In addition, they pray for "many more earthquakes to kill many more thousands of impudent and ungrateful Chinese".
Vile, vile words that could only have come from the pits of hell, and the devil himself. These guys know not who it is they are worshipping. Their words would all be very funny if their hatred were not so real.
Readers of this site will remember that not so long ago, Westboro had issued a similar release thanking God for "punishing" China with the worst winter storm of 50 years . In that statement, they also boldly claimed that they would come to picket the Beijing Olympics and preach to the world outside the Olympic stadium. Now we seriously hope they will be granted their visas, and that the PSB will arrest them upon arrival and lock them away in a place where there will be a great weeping and gnashing of teeth. Forever.
