When trans-national corporations move in to developing countries they can generate enormous economic benefits for the citizens of that country. But some companies can also take enormous liberties. They can degrade the environment and they can refuse to respect the human rights of the local communities. Essentially, they can operate in a way they would never be allowed to get away with in their home countries.
