The following Wayland residents will be taking on the fight against cancer by participating in the 20th annual Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund Walk on Sunday, Sept. 21: David Batt, Julie Batt, Ken Talentino, John Kebabian, Robert Irving, Deborah Tully, Evan Tyra, Elizabeth Tyra, Chad Tyra, Wendy Tyra, Susan Glovsky, Bill Talentino, Karen Dalton-Thomas, Mark McGonagle, Emily Pineault, Caitlyn Pineault, Allison Pineault, Heather Pineault, Linda Schwartz, Harold Schwartz, Sherrie Barlas, Jennifer Jagolinzer, Kathie McInnis, David Johnson, Grace Cartwright, Sally Cartwright, Eileen Agnes and Peter Agnes. Wayland walkers will join more than 7,000 participants, who are expected to raise $7.2 million for cancer research and care for children and adults at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Over the past 19 years, walkers and their supporters have contributed more than $51 million to Dana-Farber. This funding supports cutting-edge cancer research to find cures and better treatments for all forms of the disease. It also provides special services and assists with costs of patient care and treatment. Walkers can choose from five different routes – 26.2 miles or 13.1 miles from Hopkinton; 13.1 miles from Wellesley; 5 miles from Boston College; or the 3-mile route that begins at the Harvard Medical School Quad.
